For those of you who know, how's the ride quality with some 18"s? What kinda setup is it, just shocks and springs? It seems that it's a bit lower than the H&R cup kit.

TIA
Brabus has two suspension options: 1) sport lowering springs; or 2) springs + shocks. Both emphasize very much on "comfortable ride". The drop is about 1.5" front and 1.25" rear (but this is just an estimate, cars equipped with different options will have a different lowering rate). It is not lower than the Cup Kit.

It's not as hard as some carlsson setup but I think that a track oriented chassis won't fit a W203. The brabus suspension is a good choice for a well balanced comfort/sport ratio.

BRABUS Lowering Springs

Hey everyone, I got a question. I just purchased Brabus lowering springs. What is the difference between Brabus and H&R springs. Was it worth getting the Brabus lowering springs?

BRABUS Springs Only

Hello every one,
Don't kill me to start another forum on the lowering/suspesion topic. But this is ver specific.

Just talked to BRABUS, they have springs only (which are made by Eibach ) on special for $275/set. They claim it lowers the car by 1.5 inches. Asked them will it ruin the stock shocks and they claim NO. Questions:

1. Do BRABUS springs only really lower the car actually 1.5 inches?

2. Has anyone only changed their springs only? Your comments?

3. I think it for sure will ruin the stock shocks no matter what they say. But anyone has actually experienced this? How bad is it... what u need to do after this happens (i.e. get after market shocks or new stock shocks?)

Thanks in advance for feedback

Also before my conversation to them I was on the verge of ordering H&R cup kits; while worring about the ride comfort.

It depends on the euqipment/options on your car. 1.5" is an average number, I think it will be plus or minus 0.25". Some cars with more options and heavier, then it will lower slightly more.

2. Has anyone only changed their springs only? Your comments?
A number of people have installed Brabus springs only. Better let them chip in their comments. All I can say is they are very comfortable, give you a nice drop and can improve the handling.
3. I think it for sure will ruin the stock shocks no matter what they say. But anyone has actually experienced this? How bad is it... what u need to do after this happens (i.e. get after market shocks or new stock shocks?)
You called, asked and they answered. And you dont believe in them. If the biggest car tuning company in the world cant convince you, who can? Yes, the life expectancy of the stock shocks will decrease, but not to an extent of what everyone is talking in here. If the stock shocks failed one day, then maybe you should consider getting aftermarket shocks. I agree with this saying: getting springs alone is a good start, eventually you will want to go further.

Thanks alot for your feedback...as far as not beleiving in Brabus...I was just trying to see if anyone actually had only springs and had experienced problems with the stock shocks.

And yes there is nothing here that can help me if there are people with Brabus springs only...and there experience and did the car actually drop 1.5 inches.

Thanks,

Thanks,
That is exactly what I have been saying all along. People always say: "oh, your shocks will die after XXXX miles". But how many people have real life experiences??? There are too many "I heard that....." or "He said that....." The question is YOU, the one with aftermarket springs, did YOUR shocks fail after XXXX miles, if yes, how many miles??? We have not seen those reports on the forum!

Ok- I am trying to help indirectly as well....

Currently I have the H&R springs only, for 5 months last fall I had Eibach's only. I have 31,500 miles on my car.

The stock shocks are still just fine, and I race my car. A lot. And they are still fine.

Just like Brabus C, I hope this helps...
