How much is 2002 C230 worth 5,000 orig miles?
Hi Guys,
Documented 5000 original Miles since brand new!
Its White with Black Cloth.
Has C-7 Package, Sunroof, Automatic, Bose.
The people selling it have the price at $17,000 Ouch?
What do you guys think it is worth?
I need to get one of these bad.

I don't know if I would touch a car with that little miles. Sounds like it might have been kept in garage or storage...... which is what it sounds like. Who can guarantee that proper maintenance and actions were taken for the storage. 5K miles means less than 1K miles a year......

I bought a 2002 Acura TL in 2005 with very, very little miles. It was a nightmare. They had to replace so many parts under warranty they practically rebuilt it.
I've since come to believe that cars are made to be driven, not to sit. Sitting, without proper precautions, is worse than being driven.
I'd stay away from that.

This is NOT a good idea. There is a reason the car has such low miles.
I am assuming this is a Coupe, but be it coupe or sedan, there were a number of electrical issues that most people had to have addressed under warranty. The warranty for this car is over. So, caveat emptor.
For roughly 10-11k, you can get a car with some 50k miles on it.

Since the four year warranty is expired and without a comprehensive extended warranty, this car will be a nightmare. My dealer has been doing a lot of expensive head work on the four cylinders lately.

That's like 70 miles a month. What happens with very short trips and very few trips is the engine builds up mositure that normally get burned off on long trips. This moisture just sits in the block corroding away at metals inside. I would even bet the engine burns oil. On top of that, fuel turns to varnish when stored for long periods of time. This varnish coats fuel lines, pump, injectors. So it's riskier than normal, but I can understand the appeal. People think cars deteriorate only with miles, the truth is cars deteriorate with age too, fluids and rubber (tires, seals, gaskets, belts) have shelf lives and many people that don't drive much don't follow always the proper maintenance, for example, for all you know, that car has the original motor oil, the original tires which are probably cracking by now, the original hoses, the original everything.

I agree with the above quote.
I think the Kelly Blue Book is much more accurate to real world prices.
The car was bought by someones Aunt and she died and the car has pretty much sat stored for 5 years.
