Chris,
Don't! you like me won't be happy. Go wider if you wish but you don't want lower profile tyres. The essense of Benz is more important to drivers like us than cosmetics.

I'm with you. This is for looks...but I don't want to lose any of my Mercedes Benz ride. This isn't my sports car, it's my take my wife out and cruise in style car that I'm keeping for a long time.

Now if I had an SLK...I'd still do nothing higher than 18 inches. I don't want my teeth falling out.

Hopefully someday I can get a used SLK to add to my collection, but for now my C Class is my Benz to love and cherish.

Oh shame - I can see that the fender fit to the light is tight.

Bodyshops!

4MATIC wheel question

Staggered wheels safe on a 4matic? Interested in the pros and cons of them. Wheels I like I can only find staggered, live in PA and heard staggered wheels get worse traction in bad weather (don't know if this is true or not).

MB does offer staggered wheel on 4-matic and there's no harm in running staggered wheel on 4-matic as long as overall diameter is the same.

mods, please close the thread or merge to wheel thread.

2003 C320 4Matic
so if they offer it that means that going 18x8, 225/35/18 in the front and 18x9 265/30/18 wouldnt cause any problems?

if you want to do 265 in the back you need to run 235/35/18 in the front to match better overall diameter.

I ran that on my 18 BBS RE. you don't need that much rubber for the 320. 225/35/18 and 255/30/18 will do you fine.

03MBC - Look on TireRack site - select your tire - see specs & they give you revs per mile. Listen to Frank

Question of 18"AMG on on "03 C240

Just picked up a used c240 4Matic. It has 18 inch AMG wheels. I've had the tires balanced two different times and the car still has discernible shake. I've double checked and the wheels are not bent. Car has spacers but I don't know the width of them and they are not hub centric. Any thoughts of removing the spacers to improve the balance? I didn't know whether I would run into rubbing issues. Do I even need these spacers? I care more about ride and fit quality than looks.

there's your vibration. Whether you need the spacers or not depends on the offset and width of your 18" wheels. If you do need the spacers, find a set that are hubcentric.

are there spacers on all 4 hubs ?

Hello I am new here , I've been reading a lot but havent found any clear answer yet, does anybody have staggered rims in a w203 2007 c280 4matic? If not staggered what do you guys recommend, I want 18" but I called mercedes and they told mw that even if all of them are same size, upgrading from 16" to 18" could damagw the 4matic??? I'm not an expert but you shouldn't have any problem with those wheels. Performance in the summer is really awesome! Good Luck.
