LEDs in the Footwells

So, I added some red LEDS in the foot wells Over this past weekend and was able to snap a picture with my phone. I'll get better ones posted when i can clean my car this weekend.

Someone else did this here as well, but i think they did blue. I did mine in red to match the red lights I already have in there. I also went a little further and added some under the driver seat for the rear footwells.

The 6411 bulb is for which light? If i can find them here locally, I can just mail them to you.

That looks hot! How did you do it? What parts did you use? Do they come on with the doors or by remote switch? Spill the beans...

I followed kevblah's DIY
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...well-leds.html

Ansd also used the picture from the below thread to help me
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...oval-pics.html

Only, i went a little further. I wish I took pictures, but it was cold out when i was doing it so i'll see if i can use kevblah's and others' photos to explain what i did.

I ordered these ones and added 2 extra 9" tubes. There are the 15" tubes in the front part of the footwells, 9" tubes taped to the metal bar on the front part of the front seats, and 15" tubes taped to the top of the heater/ac vents under the front seats that point back for the rear footwells. You can adjust the front seats all of the way up and forward to make it easier to get to the vents.

The 6 socket piece that the lights connect to is under the center console between the cup holder and the shifter. Basically the bottom of the below picture.

I took the ashtray and climate controls out. I dropped the plastic covers for the footwells above the pedels and the just below the glove box. Then i ran a coat hanger through to find the way to run the wires. I taped the wires for the lights to the coat hanger and ran them out. Make sure to run the wires below the bar the climate controls. See the below picture for a reference.

The wiring for the lights under the seats were MUCH harder. To the point that i should have ran them with the rest of the wires as i had enough slack.

I have the controller in the ashtray since I don't use it. This way i can close the ashtray door and everything is hidden.

Tip: heat up the cabin and specifically the metal on the seats and anywhere you want to stick the 2 sided 3M tape that comes with the lights, or they wont stick.

I'd like to just have the 2 under the dash.
Not bother with the seats.
Could I remove the other 2?
How do you turn them on and off?

I properly tapped into the fuse for the radio and grounded it like kevblah did.
It has a controller (which i have in my ashtray) that you can turn them on/off, switch between 7 different settings and control the sensitivity of the mic (which is in the controller). I wish i could have it turn off when the car is off, but for now, i have to make sure its off when i turn the car off.

If anyone knows where to wire the + or ground so that it turns off when the key is out, i'm real interested as i'm quiet forgetful!

I used the cigarette lighter in my C32 to tie circuits to the key position. If there's a lighter in yours, that might be a good one to grab.

Vynil'd side markers and grille

So, i got a strip of pewter vynil and it's finally been worm enough, plus i now have a garage that i can actually put it on.

I put some on the grille, just the horizontal bars and covered my side markers.

Here is the grille it's very subtle looking:

Thanks. The grille is real subtle. I think once i get a CL grille (black with chrome 'lines') that i'm going to cover the lines with the vinyl, something a little different and cheap.

You're not. I don't like the CL grille either. It doesn't look like it belongs on these cars IMO.
