So im thinkin we need some happy results from the Dyno! I'm so contemplating that mod. a bit much. but for what its worth, its gotta be nice. Hows it sound?

Congradualtions from me too! How much power is this kit suppose to give you? The C230 is a 1.8L 4 Cyl w/compressor right?

Russell where are you sending to ECU to have it reprogrammed? What are the projected gains with the ECU upgrade plus the K2 kit?

So how is the install going? How far did you get. You know we are NOT going to stop pestering you until we get a dyno of the results!!!!


Do the instructions mention anything about zeroing out the car, or I guess that is being done because you sent the ECU to Kleeman. I actually called Kleeman to see about having this done on my C230K M111. Said, nope we don't do those for that engine.

He didn't directly say which company. I'm assuming as the whole kit is Kleeman.

I purchased the kit from Matrix in Portland Oregon. The install is going good, they did make a mistake on sending my ECU in because the c230 does not require the ECU being reprogrammed. Thats were the K box comes into play. I am in a pinch because I have to get the boat ready for house boat trip and guests are coming so I'm kind of huring along, I will take it for dyno when I get back. And I am taking pictures along the way.

Sorry just got back from the houseboat trip and need to get over to get the dyno done, I will try to post pics of install today. It gave it a kick! The best is in the early morning with cool air. It just wants to go fast.

Everything that comes in the K2 kit!


The K&N installed.


The connections in line for the K-box, it connects to the mass air flow (MAF) and the manifold air pressure (MAP). Like I said they made a mistake and no programming is required for M271 engine. The K-box goes in the fuse box under the hood.


Header install, the bends could be better. It was a little off, so it went in tight. I tried twisting the header and the cat every which way to make it fit better, and the stock bracket. so we will see how it holds up.


The pulley's installed, the water pump is smaller and the main one on the crank is larger. the belt looked a hair longer??? It was hard to break the torque on the crank but a good impact should work. then it takes a heck of alot of torque.


The fuel pressure regulator, it is mounted back by the tank in line with the return on the fuel filter. It uses a vacume line that you have to install from off the manifold and route back to the regulator. there is a open hole in all the brackets with the fuel and brake line so it looks like it belongs.


I think that covers it all, I did forget a picture of the oversized cat. It is much larger screen on the inside for better flow so I think it helps. I don't have time this week for the dyno but I will try next week so I can post results.

Hello Russel, I come over from the slk r171 forum where we are all excited with your kleeman k2 kit!!! It is a mod I am very interested in.

Since you are a worthy pioneer and have had all the kleeman kit installed would you mind answering some questions about it???

1) Has the cold start of the car suffered in any way?

2) Does the car rev cleanly in all the rev band without hesitations sputering etc??

3)Have you ever had indications of pre-knocking ?


4)Have you had any indication that the stock chargecooler of the car is not enough after you completed the conversion to kleeman??

5)Can you give us your general impressions about driveability, the quality of the tuning kit and whatever else you may find useful for prospective buyers of the kit??


As far as the k-box is conerned,when I inquired about my slk,which has a similar if not same version of the m271 engine, I was told it was necessary. I suppose the ecu of the slk needs to be tricked somewhat .....

wow for $3000 something, its pretty much worth it with all the stuff it comes with!

I hope they have it for the M112 motors.

Sauce, it's cool to have your opinion on whether or not he spent his money wisely, but let's ease up on the personal attack. If people want to spend a lot of $$$ on a mod., it's their perogative.

Hey if you have the money why not? Besides, he now has bragging rights to say he has a Kleemannized car.

People on a budget shouldn't drive Mercedes, thats why they make Honda's. Plus it's nothing compaired to what I spend on airplanes.

Sorry it took so long, but I am going in for dyno next week. The shop is going to do it for $89.00 so we will see how much it improved performance.
