Confused about OIL changes and when to do them.
I have a C220 CDI and am in Portugal.(europe)
My service manual is in German and therefore I don't understand a word of it, looking through it I see the Service A and B.
The page that the dealers fill out and stamp has different KM ..
30k-50k-80k-120K
Am i understanding this correct? I am only suppose to change the oil at those intervals?
Any help is much appreciated .. Thanx.

Once a year or when the display on the dash tells you to do an A or B service, though some people like to do it more often.
The computer will tell you to change the oil anywhere from 8K to 15K miles (sorry, you do the math) depending on the condition of the oil.
(The car actually has a sensor to test the oil) All of this is assuming you have a W203 and use MB approved oil.

Hang on - We are talking about a Diesel here. They have different change intervals to petrol. I think the diesel change interval is every 20,000Kms which I think is too far. Please clarify with you dealer or MB Europe - You are running different sulphur content diesel in Europe to the rest of the world and that effects TBN retention positively in the engine oil. Please ask MB Europe & only use specified oils & genuine filters.

After further reading on the internet, i have learned that the cars ASSYST tells you when to do the next service. My next service says in 3800 KM ( service B )
I was thinking of doing it sooner, like next week, is that a problem?
