man wtf wrong with my car now?
k, here is the deal........
I was merging on the fwy, not mashing out, but simply merging and the car all of a sudden had no real power, the car went smoothly, but no power. When I came to a stop I expected the car to shake, but it didnt. No, check light. I turned off my car and the car ran fine, whats going on with it?

Something similar happened to me. I accidently shifted to 6th instead of 4th. When I tried to accelerate moments later... no power. Seems it didn't like being "lugged" like that. It has not happened since.
If you turned off the ignition and restarted it and have not experienced loss of power again, then don't worry too much. (Crossing yor fingers might help too.)

The car likely went into limp home mode. Restarting reboots the ECU, TCU etc. Sticking the car into reverse while moving forward can trigger this. Obviously not the case here.
Could well be a one off event. Check all fluid levels including auto if it's auto & just watch it for a while. I've had this happen once 30,000 Kms ago never to return.

for a while till it's a solid failure.
Whats the CEL code? If it's a misfire, swap the coil packs between cylinders and see if it goes with the CP.
Or...it could be much worse...people seem to have bad problems with that M271 engine. Valves and such.

Ya the car is retarded for sure. When my car goes in limp mode it does not vibrate/ shake like it has done before. My car idles really smooth. wtf is the problem. I really dont know what to look for. Hey Diamond Bar do you think you can help me check out my car. Thanks.
