![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
ASP is fun, but lately I kind of have feeling like some kind of missfire but it is very slight when I push the car hard at the freeway entrance. This happen to the acceleration at 2500 rpm to 3000 rpm only for less than half a secon. This sensation is so light the passenger wouln't feel it,but I do.That is not long enough and hard enough to trigger a the cell, no codes, nothing.
MAF is cleaned, two steps colder plugs (NGK-- 5691) have less than 5000 miles. Fuel filter has 10 months, intake filter has 8.
Throttle reset seems to solve the problem... for 4 to 5 days. now it's back.
Can that be someting else? like the belt slips or clogged cat but I doubt it since it does not do that at 3000 rpm and up. It is hard for me to tell with no mecanical skills or knowledge. Please advise.
Thanks.
T.
ps: or I'm just paranoid? hope not.

Could be a wonky TPS - (throttle position sensor). If you are throwing no misfire codes it could be the start of TPS trouble - Fairly common. No we don't think you are paranoid - just sensitive to what your car is doing & that's good. Can be the start of coilpack & wire problems but you should get a code.

Thats how it starts when a Coil pack fails.
The ECU counts the number of misfires. It has to be like 20 out of 600 to trigger a CEL. Less than that, you feel it but it doesn't throw a code. Eventually it will throw a code, keep a spare CP with you.
Also check the seal on the MAF after you cleaned it. I use an oring from the hardware store (Plumbing dept.) to seal it. Put your hand near. Is it blowing air? I did that after cleaning last time, leaking. Fixed now.

Thx for the reply guys, I will order the set of packsand change all of them once anf for all, at least for a litle while. Also, last time I cleaned the MAF, There was already an O ring that seals it; however, I'll check again tomrrow morning just to make sure.
Today I floored it at freeway entrance, it did again, stronger, at about 2,800RPM. I felt it like 2 or 3 only. The thing that I cannot understand is that It wont missfire above 3000RPM or under 2500. Did not reed line but shifted at 5500RPM. It would make more sens if I dah more misfire at higher RPM no?
I nkow that for the M111, the E. M45 kick in after 2500 RPM I wonder if it is related somehow.

I guess I am gonne keep it for a while, seems like I cannot let it go at many occasions. Faster cars or greater value cars, that I tried and liked couldn not make me dump that one. The mini couper S almost got me for the thrill but since this was and still is my first car, it is more sentimental eventhough I am not that sensitive.
I tried the Celica GT typr R few years ago and could'nt see myself in it. I considered the civic Si by the body but when I saw the interior, took a step back. Travelled to LA with the 335 convrt, what a great car but had a back pain only after 2 hour drive.
I had few little issues with that baby in the past but it's worth it, so I am gonna stick with it longer.
