First run at leatherique with inserts

I have a 04 c230 with the leather inserts and tried some leatherique yesterday Jan 31, it wasnt exactly hot out about 70-72, sun was out and I let the heater run for about 20 minutes after application.

Before using leatherique the seats were taut, not hard or soft, just firm, but getting dark greyish brown from the years of accumulated stuff.
Today Jan 1st cleaned it off and dont really feel that the seats are buttery soft rather a little less firm when touched but still firm, but a lot cleaner.

Is the results on leather inserts with MB-Tex less dramatic than previous years vehicles that have the leather that tends to get cardboard tough over time?

Just wondering what everyone elses results are.
Will probably try again during the summer months when it can get 90 degs out.

Happy New Year!!!

I have full leather in light grey (hell to keep clean). I use only Mequiar's Gold Class Rich Leather cleaner/conditioner. My leather is as new - spotless & soft.

leatherique won't be very effective on that leather. Don't expect a miracle out of it (turning ur C-class leather into nappa leather) it's not going to happen.

water and clean soft cloth works the best. I don't like to use detergents on my seats.

Buuut... while the MB-Tex easily comes clean and looks like new, I can never get the leather inserts to look as clean as they should. In the right light if you look closely they look sort of dirty / splotchy. Having an extremely light interior doesn't help!!

Leatherique is not a detergent... have you read about the product?

Funny you should say that - that is how I start - clean water & a terry towel. Then the Mequiar's - This even keeps my steering wheel (also grey) nice & clean. No dirty high shine.
