If anyone is having a ESP & BAS error at the same time.
This is a recall. They have to bring it to the dealer so they can install a extension adapter for the ESP.

Do you have any more details? Is it a recall or a TSB - do you have the number off the paperwork and the part number that gets replaced?
I have had this problem for months and the dealer says that the codes are not being stored and there is nothing they can do with out the codes. So I have to drive to the dealer the next time I get it just to show them the problem.
The faults clear themselves when you turn off the ignition. A maddening experience.

Part Numbers
Yes the codes will clear themselves after start but will reappear in 10-15 minutes.
I took my car to Chambers Motorcars, here are the parts they replaced:
203-540-47-33 = Electric Cab
001-997-83-90 = Clamp
001-546-99-41 = Cable Connecter
006-989-84-85-10 = Adhesive Tape
I'm not sure if its a recall, but if it has to do with ESP and BAS, it must be a serious problem.

Be careful with Chambers - I bought my car there and began getting my services there. All I can say is keep an eye on them. I found them to be unscrupulous in addition to incompetant. I would go to Alaska if thats where the next closest dealer was before I went back to them.

If you want to get it done, just tell the service adviser that the caution keeps coming on, and they will fix it. The light doesn't have to be on when you take it in, since just restarting the car will clear it. They did mine while I waited- about 45 mins. They told me it was not a safety issue, just an annoying malfunction.

As indicated in other threads on this forum the ESP/BAS error code is a common occurrance on C-Class automobiles and the problem (and the solution) should be familiar to the dealer. My dealer (Euromotorcars in Bethesda MD). fixed this problem by (1) clearing corrosion on a sensor in the left wheel well and (2) replacing a wire harness. I have not had this problem since Euromotors made this fix.
