replacing parking light on c240
BTW, have any of u guys tried LED wedge bulbs instead of the normal 5W wedge bulbs? I bought some really expensive PIAA LED bulbs n they dont work in my car. It's on when I plug in the bulb then it goes off after a few seconds. It comes back on after another few seconds n then goes off again n keeps cycling like that. There's no warning on the dash LCD with regards to the parking lights. It just keeps flashing on-off-on-off. Pretty annoying after spending good money on those PIAA bulbs.

Careful with those wires. My car's only 1.5 years old n yet those wires were brittle. The insulation was really brittle on those wires n stripped right off when I changed my bulbs. I had to do some DIY with black wire insulation tape to cover the bare wires.

In case you're wondering, I've tried the "25 Led SMT Tower III" but they didn't work out so well. They need to be shaved down to clear the hole and the last pair I got threw errors.

yeah I've tried at least a half dozen different types of wedge bulbs. I've had good luck with the newer "SMD" style ones and they do not error, stay on, and do not need any resistors. The ones I used were "5 Led SMT Tower" from http://superlumination.com/194.htm

I found that the easiest solution to the never ending city (parking) light bulb issue is to buy a set of Philips blue vision headlights with the city lights. They all come together in one package. The blue vision city lights are perfect WHITE, no yellow, and barely a hint of blue (unlike the name suggests). The replacement headlights match the new city lights perfectly and are whiter than the stock bulbs. They are somewhat close to stock HID color. You cant buy them in the US, so go on ebay and get them from a UK seller. The whole pack of 4 is under $40 USD with shipping. They eliminate the yellow without looking like blue ricer lights (Tried Polarg M4s for the city lights, they're blue ricer crap.)

^ Get those, from that seller. You'll thank me.

Oh, and, MB sells blue tinted wedge bulbs as an OEM product. They came stock on newer CLS and E class cars. They still look yellowish compared to HID's but a lot better than the normal ones.
Thanks Glyn. You're pretty knowledgeable about a bunch of stuff too.
