How is your tirelife with SPORTCONTACT conti's C7

My rears are just about cooked with 3700 miles. They seem to suck. They have crappy wet weather performance and just break loose way to easy for my taste. My clk has cheeeeep nitto tires that are really sticky in the dry, have lasted 9k already and look flawless. My conti's are crap there all worn.

What is your opinion on them

I don't like them at all, glad I got the Pilot Sports on my car. But as much as I don't like contis, they still shouldn't wear that fast, unless you are really driving it hard. And if you are, that's the cost of doing it.

I have Pirelli P-Zeros on my car. Has anyone had these on there coupe? I am wondering how the treadwear is on them.

IMHO the tire pressures that MBZ suggests for the C7
tires is not adequate.

I run mine (Michelin Pilots) around 40 PSI at the suggestion of the local tire store. I have about 15K on them now, and they look to have another 5-10K left.

Some have stated only about 5K miles even with the
Michelins.

If it's just your back tires, would it be safe to assume you're driving alot with the traction control off? (and burning rubber?)

Usually I wear fronts faster (in general) from taking corners hard if you don't rotate them.

It would be strange to see the backs wear faster if you are in fact leaving the traction control on and have them properly inflated, which as I've stated ought to be more than the 28-32 PSI
MBZ suggests.

I have Conti's with 8500 miles on them. I'd say they should be good for about 12000 more miles at the current wear rate. I keep mine inflated to 30-32 psi all around.

Guess you're driving a lot harder than I do.

I run 38 front pressure 35 rear. I had a few bad snowstorms where i peeled my tiresfor minutes at a time and i smelled rubber burning. I was getting stuck going up a hill but made it with excessive spin.

The fronts were wearing bad on the front edge, but i counteracted this by inflating nic and high on the front.

Maybe rear pressure is too high/

For snow traction less pressure is better. That way the tread, tire and sidewal flex more for better grip.

Whats interesting is that my dealer never corrected delivery pressure., When i got my car 55 psi was in all 4 whls. I discovered this at 500 miles and was pissed off. They corected it, but im wondering if i have maybe a chance of getting 2 new tires because the rubber could have gotten mesed up? Im just curious?

I got about 14000 miles on my set of Conti SC. The rears were down to about 10% tread and fronts about 40%. I had a blow out of on one of the rears, so I decided to change all 4. I really did not have any problems with them - in the dry or wet. I do not drive too aggressively, on occasion when the situation is safe to do so.
