We don't have it.

Look closely at your pic and then at your storage compartment. The pic doesn't show the back seat fan housing either. There was a thread about several weeks ago but I'm to lazy to STFF for the link.

Since the 02 and 03 C320 has a fan in the storage compartment for the rear, they may have deleted the air vent for the compartment. The manual picture clearly lacks the fan unit, so it may be from a 01 model. My 01 C320 has the vent and lever.

They probably got rid of it, because you really can't put anything in that compartment anyway.

Lets be inventive here.. There is plenty of storage. Especially for all those little things you don't what your mom to see when you give her a ride. LOL

The lever is inside the lower storage compartment of my '03 C230K, close to the front driver's side corner. It is an inconspicuous black colour.

I guess C240 and C230K don't come with the fan housing so they keep the vent and lever.

What is THAT box in the lower armrest storage compartment?

There's somekind of unit that is under there for C320s that the C240s dont have. I first noticed them at the carshow last year and the rep couldn't explain it either. (It also exists in C32s apparently). So for the 3.2s the lower compartment can't really store much.

Is it something for the transmission?

It is the fan for the rear seats. C320 and C32 has a separate fan control just for the rear seats. Your C240 does not have this because the rear vents just put out whatever you set the fan on up front.

Um, yes and yes. I think those are the only cars that you can get the digital climate control in. Right?

I think it's an option on the C240 elegance models here in Canada.. or it may be standard on the C240 elegance, and is an option on the classic model. I have the non-digital HVAC... works fine for my purposes, just i wish I have the charcoal filter..

my c240 has it... i think if you close the vent in the compartment, the air pushes more for the back seat vents.
