Finally! Now just out of curiosity before saving up the funds...where is a good place to get these installed in San Francisco (or elsewhere in the bay area)? I got my resonate delete at Golden Gate Auto and wasn't too happy with it. Any recommendations of a reputable place to install aftermarkter headers besides doing it yourself? (I recently helped my friend change his headers on his Civic, the 8th generation ones, and after a experience like that I think I'm actually traumatized from going under a car again.)

You can complete the entire transaction through them at the $995.00 price plus install. Installation is VERY simple on these headers. 3 hours at the most. Fortunately, MB actually thinks about servicing the car before they design it, so the install will not be nearly as bad as your buddy's honda. You can likely do it yourself if you're handy with a wrench. The install does require cutting, and the KLEEMANN down pipe clamps onto the existing exhaust system- quick and easy. All bolts, hardware, gaskets and clamps are included.

We are very pleased to announce NEW pricing for our M271 header/downpipe/cat. Original retail was $2000.00, but we are happy to announce a reduction in price to $995.00 plus shipping. This is a stainless steel, tubular, equal length header which includes a down pipe and a high-flow metallic catalyst. Installation is typically 2-3 hours and no welding is required- it's a simple cut and clamp install. These will fit any M271 engine, however they will not fit right-hand drive vehicles. We've seen consistent gains of 20 HP and TQ on the C230K. These will fit both coupes and sedans. PM/email with questions, or call 719.473.6441 if you'd like to place an order.
how much larger (diameter) are they than stock? are all the pipes that connect to the collector of equal length? just curious...

hmm... how would you suggest cutting if we do it ourselves?

Fitted my headers and cat today.... i thought it was an easy job, but it was about 3 hrs work... so it wasnt my lucky day.... but after fitting it i was glad spending 3 hrs on that thing!!!
The only thing that they were forgotten was a gasket between header and cat... so i had to go to a local shop to buy one!
Havent got time to make pictures, but it isnt that difficult, the only thing is that you havent got much space for your tools, so it isnt that easy to dismount your oem headers....
Havent driven much but for now i can say WOW... I feel that there is much more power and torque. My wife says WOW is that because of the headers?? She didnt know why i had to put some other headers on my car
Also in the mid range he is more powerfull.
And with my Brabus exhaust it gives a better sound!!
I'm glad i have done it. No regrets....
If someone want to know step by step how to install on a M271, please lett me know and i will explain.

wow... i never knew they made the w204 with the m271 engine. good to know its still living on in other parts of the world.
do you have other pictures of the install? and would you be willing to write up a DIY? i want to attempt to do this myself, but have zero experience under the hood.

But if you havent got any experience you better dont do it yourself !!!
Lett someone else who knows what he is doing install it!!
You need to put your car of the ground so you can go under the car, it isnt a job you can do on the street!!!

Now, if Kleeman could offer the headers, pulley and K box as a package for about 2 grand, they'd have a REAL winner. I would consider going to the M271 side Luke, er Cory.
This is a market begging for an affordable performance solution.
This is a step in the right direction....but more is needed,
but there's a great profit potential if Kleeman was willing to
bend a little...more.

Yeh, well the R&D was done years ago, the dies cast etc.
But how many people bought? Not many, because they priced themselves out of their target market. So, considering the $$$ are already spent to develop the products....
why don't they buck up and get something that people will buy.
Seems to me, selling the stuff as a kit could be lucrative, especially if they could increase the quantities sold instead of trying to eak out their investment selling 1 or 2 kits to those willing to spend extreme amounts of cash for small gains. Granted, it's a quality product, but IMHO, Kleeman would make more money selling increased quantities for less $$ especially in this market.
Time for the MB tuners to get 'real'. Even at 1K, it's still a lot of coin.
Same types of products for other brands cost way less....because they sell larger quantities.

Yeah, it seems like they don't realize they're dealing with an entirely different demographic. I know they're Kleeman, but the average M271 (i.e. W203 owner) is just not going to be in the same financial position as the guy that buys a brand new SL63 and immediately sends it off to have a complete Kleeman overhaul. I definitely think they could turn a tidy profit by packaging a significant, but reasonably-priced kit for us M271 plebes, and moving them in large volumes.

These pics have pushed me further to the edge of biting the bullet and getting these, I may have to hit up Group5 motorsports to get an estimate in the next couple weeks.

That picture of the Kleeman Headers has been interrupting my dreams/nightmares/daydreams for the past week almost. *sigh* Next month. My tires decided to go with the bald eagle look at the beginning of this week...
