Anyone know what is ideal width and offset on 18"

I would like to know the ideal width for front and rear with offset.

18x8? 18x8.5? 35mm?
front

18x10? 30mm? 32mm?
rear
or would that cause some problems. I want a nice deep dish. My current rims dont have any lip and it annoys me.

I want to put on 225 in the front and 255 in the rear.

Thanks.

You need a multipiece wheel for good lip usually.

Unless you go for those ghetto-fabulous one piece mock deep dish mexican saturday night special!

The fronts should be ok with 18x8, +35 but I'm not too sure about the back. Also, if you're going to run 225s up front, I would get the 18x8... I have 18x8 up front with 225s and the rim is a little bit too wide for the tire (Pirelli P7000 SS) imo, so I think 18x8.5 w/ 225s would look really strange. I would think 18x10 in the back is pushing it unless you plan to roll your fenders.

2002 C230 : 2007 C230
Front:
18x8 w/ 225/40 safe offset 35, ideal offset 32

Rear:
18x9 w/ 255/35 safe offset 35 ideal 32

This is what my playing around with spacers on my 18" setup tell me.

Ok the fronts will be 18X8.

The rear Im pushing for 18X10 with 30mm offset. Hopefully i can fit 265's in the rear.

These will NOT be ghetto rims. They will be Multipiece. But i dont want to let out what rims since my friends look at this forum.
Now will this be ok. Hmm.

You can definitely put 265 in the rear but you will probably have to roll the fender. I think Peter has a C320 in his gallery section with Zauber Gettin 19x10 in the rear, he said the fender has to be rolled.

It will be strange for someone to called himself BrabusCClass but put a set of Carlsson or Lorinser wheels on it!! So my guess will be Mono VI, but then Mono VI dont have 18x10. Then it will be HRE or BBS or ...... umm.....do we get a small prize for guessing it right? :p

LOL!!! People on this forum are too smart.

All I can say is Wheelexperts.com is very helpful. Now I just need to roll my fenders.

18X10 with 265..

I have 18x9 with 255 in the rear, and it fits just right (35mm). If you are going for 18x10, I think the tire should be atleast 275. With the 10" width the 265 tire might be too narrow for the rim..

Depends on the design of the tire. I had 18x10 with 265/35/18 PZero on my CLK before and it rubbed like hell. I have to get 255/35/18 T1-S.

But if he's gonna roll the fender anyway, then it wouldnt be a problem anymore.

What I meant was the 10" rim will be too wide for the 265 tire. With 10" rim width, wether it is 265,275, it will most likely rub, especially if it is lowered (which I think it is). IMO the 265 tires will be too narrow for the 18x10" rim. What you want is the tire to be wide enough to flare out from the 10 width rim, that way if you are too close to the curb, the tire will rub first and not the rim....just my opinoin.

Though it varies a little bit depending on tire design, I think in most cases this will be true. I would agree that an 18x10 rim needs at least 275s for the tires to be wide enough for the rim... otherwise the lip will be sticking out

I think you've misunderstood my meaning as well....

Some tires have a more "square" corner (like PZero Rosso) and with no sidewall protection. Some tires have a more rounded corner (like T1-S) and with sidewall protection. Even if they're both 265 tires, but when mounted on a 18x10 wheel, they will look differently. The recommended size for a 18x10 wheel is actually 285/35/18. It is almost impossible for a W203 to have a 285 (or even 275) wheel on the rear. We are just pushing to the limit no matter what.

If I do decide to change my wheels I will sell my rims. I will sell them with brand new tires unmounted. Im not too sure about the price yet. By the way, mine are one piece, real Brabus Monoblock V, 18x8.5 all around.

Im pretty sure I will get 19's now.

19x8.5 in the front
19x9.5 in the rear

Just testing out offsets. Still thinking 35mm all around. I will probably go 265 in the rear. 235 in the front.

LOL.

My used tires have been on my car for about 2000 miles so they are fairly new too. Around 90% tread left. I just thought I would dismount them and give it with another set of tires I have.

You dont need to go threw all that trouble just to put on new tires, there fine for me as is. (thats if the price is right)

I will make this fair, i will take the rims and tires as is and ice777 can but the new tires from u?
