THE C350
BIX

I have just bought a pair of bix for my c class. now i have a problem though i have talked to two dealers and both would not do the xenon present thing. i was wondering if any one in this area knows of a dealer that would help or has another idea! it really sucks becasue i have waited forever to get the bix and have been trying to get a few dealers to do it at every service since i got the car just in case.
thanks

Try an independent shop who has access to a star diagnostics computer.

Or you can try telling the dealership that the headlights just stopped working one night. They might not buy it though.

Yeah i guess i need to find an independent shop i will have to start calling around to see who has the star diagnostic computer. i do like your other idea but i was hoping to not have to install them before getting the setting changed but i guess i could try that! now i just have to find the form on here with all the instructions to change it so that i can tell the shop exactly what to do. if anyone knows of a shop in the dc area, Atlanta area or Birmingham are please let me know. in three weeks i will be driving to Tuscaloosa al by way of Atlanta from va so let me know
thanks
BTW C24Owner i love your car if i had the cash mine would look a lot like yours except in the way better color of glacier white lol

Sorry to threadjack OP, but C24, do you know any place in CT that can set the car to xenon present? Also, I know with the 3er, if you retrofitted BiXenon, the high beams wouldn't work, and just the low beams. Is that the same case with our W203's?

Not that I know of. There was this place in Westport that did a bunch of work for mb, but I dont think they are there anymore. You can try ICS Performance in Stamford. 203.653.2394

If the car isnt programed, I think that the lights will flicker.

Wow, yeh it seems to be deleted from every place I looked!
Luckily I had it on paper. This is how mine was set
1. EIS- Electronic Ignition Switch
2. Control Unit Adapations
3. Read Coding and change if necessary
4. All Codes
5. Xenon Headlamp- (Change to "present")

Takes all of 5 minutes. Do it in ADVANCE.
Has no effect on the standard lights..other than lowering the wattage threshold the computer sees
as a problem. Find an independent shop. Try stopping by late in the afternoon, right around closing time with some cold ones...offer the owner a beer. Shoot the BS a little....say hey, check it out, I got these way cool lights I'm gonna put on, but I need a setting in DAS set. Worked for me.
Offer 50 bucks cash. No paperwork. In the end, he refused the 50 bucks!

Yeh, thats so odd...I can remember it posted in many many places...then suddenly...nowhere. At 1st when I saw your post, I thought, 'yeh right' you hadn't looked. But then I looked...and looked...threads merged, dead links...
woah. Luckily I had it on paper to show to my mechanic when I got mine.

Glad I could help.

??? huh? You sayng a coupe is smaller than a sedan?
he he....you'd be surprised...same in the front, trunk is smaller, but with the seat folded down, it's like an SUV.

no rear doors i like my rear doors and i meant that i wanted a 350z but i did look at a c230 coupe but the former owner had trashed it and it was as base as could be. that is not always a bad thing but i like my Bose stereo and my heated seats and my headlight cleaners (I spray cars that tailgate me as they pass lol one was replaced and not aligned right so it sprays right into the fast lane lol
