I did NOT like PIAA bulbs. On every car they went on it blew out in less than 6 months. (me and 3 other people bought them at the same time.) I had PIAA extreme white bulbs and 1 blew out. I asked PIAA and they said they dont offer this in the US market. Since I bought it in the GREY MARKET it is not under warranty.
These xenon type bulbs will never be anything like real HIDs.

Piaa offers 1 year warranty on them that's one good thing about it. Another thing is that they usually run at the factory wattage, but tend to put out more than your stock. Usually other aftermarket run at a high voltage and tend to burn out or pop faster.

Just installed a set of Phillips Vision Plus Bulbs...Took a before and after shot and have attached it here.
The bulbs were ordered from lamps-online.com. A company located in England while the bulbs themselve were made in Germany. Cost was $40 US and included shipping.
Very easy to install. Took me less than 20 minutes.

Phillips Vision Plus
First off........I made a mistake as to where I bought the lamps. I got them from Autolamps-online.com.........not lamps-online.com.
Secondly......the photos do look a little dark. The original photos look better. But still you can see the difference in the amount of light on the road.
Third........It's a snap to install them...those who had a problem didn't follow directions. At least that's my take. In all it took me no more than 20 minutes total.
Hokubenz: Ok I can tell you have HID lamps don't you? Don't know about Long Island but out here in California everything is so lit up those lights are....at least to me.......a waste of good money.

The four bulbs in the headlights are H7. Personally I only upgraded the two low beam bulbs but some do all four. It does project about 50% further down the road, the pattern is a little wider and the color is whiter but not the blue/purple white of HID lights. I've have them on 2 out of 3 cars and they work great. I wish they made it in a size for the Mustang but that bulb is not available. As for why do you need them, research shows that a 50 year old requires 10 times more light to see than a 10 year old. From my experience, what happens after you hit 40 or so, you need more light to read, signs at night are not as easy to read. That's why when you were a kid you can read in near darkness and your parents told you that you need more light or you'll go blind. The reason is the parents couldn't read in that dim light and thought you couldn't either. As for why don't you just get HID lights, like Dan said, we live in a very bright and well lit city, the HID would be more cosmetic than pratical. If I owned a mountain cabin and frequently drove in unlit areas I would definately do HID lights.

Good job........Carl...........couldn't have said it better. I agree that if I lived in the boonies I would definitely have HIDs. But here in So. Cal I'm very happy with the Phillips.
BTW: Still waiting for the Audio 10. Would be upset if it were not for the fact my XM equipment isn't here yet either.
I've read some posts that they had to 'reloop' the radio or something to make it work. While others say "just pop it in and go". What's the scoop?

I popped my Audio 10 in and it worked straight out of the box(just like the bulbs). When they reset the fiber loop during an unrelated service the RDS seemed to work a little better.

I'm sure if I ask my dealer to "reset the loop" they'll give me a blank stare.
(see previous post about phrasing ECU changes in the form of a problem)

The Vision Plus bulbs emit a whiter light than stock. The difference in the illumination field size is noticable, though IMO, not dramatic.
As long as I can see where I'm going I could care less what color the light is. I still don't understand people's fascination with colored light. What about the washer fluid color?

Phillips Bulb
Avlis is correct. The Vison Plus bulb is brighter than the blue one. The blue one is just way to try and get the HID look. Not much else.
While my photos don't show up too well.......s''t camera.......there is quite a difference. And if you want bright......only the HIDs ar brighter......
Enjoy the ride

I just threw on a Max Super White wedge bulb for my city lights. Thought I would just post a pic in case someone wants a comparison of yet another brand of bulb. Obviously the right one is the Max.

Jet is this the Bulbs you used
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1867903456
Also I am confused about the bulbs that fit in the day-time lights and the night-time lights, are they the same Bulbs? Would it be good to order 2 sets of Jets Bulbs and put them in my daytime and nightime lights? Or is there a better brand to install?
