So just to make sure I have this correct the daytime light are "194 Bulbs" and the Night Times are "H7 Bulbs" Cause when I went to the application guide:
http://midnightmoose.com/mercedes.htm

it lists the Highs and Lows as both H7's, does high and low mean the daytime and nightime lights?

The low and high beams are H7, the bulbs he's refering to are the city lights, a very dim yellowish light that is on when the low beams are on.

Phillips Vision Plus Bubs

Here's a bigger photo of the different bulbs.

Notice in the bottom photo that you can see the back of the parked car on the right side near the top of the photo. Also notice the reflections on the home at the end of the street. Both are not visable with the stock bulbs

You won't need to get the commputer changed unless you are changing the whole assembly or installing a HID conversion.

aftermarket headlight bulbs

hey ppl...

anyone tried one of these halogen bulbs ---> PIAA Extreme White, and SYLVANIA Silverstar????? Which is better???? any comments???

Though i have factory xenons, im considering these for my other cars. From what ive seen...sylvania seems to b a common OEM bulb fitment on japanese cars.

Do u ppl have other bulb brands to recommend????????

my bro's using silverstars......but im still bias towards PIAA bcoz of d name, but ive heard..they burn out easily........(cant tell if silverstars any good coz he lives in d u.s.)

and while lookin at my other vehicles stock bulbs...theyre sylvania s too...from my lex...and my old accord.....its only d time ive realized that sylvania is not some cheap aftermarket stuff..since its used as OEM...and is owned by osram.

I've got Silverstars in my fogs, Cool Blues in my headlights. My assesments: The Silverstars are brighter/whiter, and seem to be holding up well, but it's rare that they're on. The Cool Blues were very bright at first, but seem to be dimmer now (approaching stock after only a few months). They're still whiter. They don't make the Silverstars in a bulb that will fit the main lights yet-but Sylvania told me they are working on them. At close to $150 for all 8 bulbs (hi/low/city/fogs), I probably wouldn't spend the money again-I'd just bite the bullet and do Xenons. HTH.

I put the Phillips Vision Plus in my C240. They do make a difference in terms of brightness and amount of light put out. I think if you do a search, you will find the Rallye bulbs a popular option also. MB uses Phillips as their OEM bulb - at least that was used in mine for 2001. I think the only difference is that the Vision Plus are not DOT approved. I ordered mine from England.

headlight replacement bulbs

Has anyone used these 100W bulbs in your 05 plus headlights. I would like to use them however I'm affraid the added heat could melt the housing. Any input would be helpful.

I wouldn't do it. Those bulbs will more than likely melt your housings and/or your headlight wiring. If you want a little better output, put a high quality bulb in there, like the Philips X-Treme Power H7 bulbs.

Thanks for the input, however HID kit is to much money for me. It's nice and on my wish list (lol), but right now not in the picture. I'll go with new bulbs.

Defiantly will melt your headlight wire.I personally saw that happened to my friends c320.He was putting pair of aftermarket bulb (100W) to replace the oem (55W).While he was driving at night,There is one of the headlight keep turning on /off itself. Then we poll the car over open the hood.A strong burning smell all under the hood. The wires are all melted. So never use the aftermarket light bulb excesses oem’s power rate.

Yes your right, I don't know what I was thinking. I did not think about the wire gauge and amps.
