Well, driving 'over the hill' the other day, I managed 27mpg, going to the valley and back which is basically unheard of for me with going uphill for 1200 ft elevation.
Usually I'd be lucky to get 22 mpg on that trip.
Search on MAF screen delete, and throttle body screen delete,
R170 forum. I'm not too worried about it.
the MAF screen delete is a no brainer.
The throttle body one is a little risky, but at 138K miles there wasn't even a bit of debris in it...As long as the air filter is in good shape, like nothing damages it, and I don't drop any loose parts into the intake, I should be fine.
The MAF retains the plastic screen on the intake, you remove the bulls eye on the output side (it just snaps out), and the metal screen on the intake side (you have to go around the edges with a screwdriver and push to cut the wire screen, then grap it with needle nose pliers. it's easy; make sure you get all the wire). So you still have some protection in the form of the plastic screen.
It's needed to break up the air so the MAF can read correctly. It won't work if you remove the intake side plastic piece.

Thats something I'd like to do, but nobody closeby, and little funds..
But, considering ASP alone adds 30HP at the wheels, + header and freeflow exhaust and deleting the SC muffler adds, oh I dunno, 10-15HP, AND the fact I could feel the difference...
the thing is, does it add peak HP? Or just change the curve? Either way my butt dyno said another 5-10HP without the screens, so I'm must be close to 240 at the crank....
If anyone wants to donate to my dyno fund...let me know..

We have an 02 C230 Coupe coming in this week. Current mods are RENNtech pulley, header, exhaust, and tune. We'll get a baseline and then doing some additional tuning and an intake.
We'll be putting together M111 packages together very shortly.

so no reply for my pm, but i guess a kit is coming out. Would the ASP pulley be included in the kit, would it be better to get the kit versus this by itself and then the rest of the kit later? I could hold out for the kit if the pulley will still be discounted then.

The kit would basically be Pulley, Tune, and intake.
Here is the link for the Pulley: http://www.tvtdes********/inc/sdetail/1348
It includes a new belt and crank bolt as well.
The pulley will be the same price in the kit or not, if you purchase the pulley and then want to upgrade to the rest of the kit, you just pay the difference.

so its $75 for the belt and bolt? If its 650 free shipping for complete kit then i guess there's no more GB discount huh? And now its $25 less for the core return. Just seeing a lot of different numbers. Either way i know its worth it and I'm in when the moneys here.

If you would like to purchase the pulley seperately for 584.99 we can do that as well.
But thanks for pointing on the core thing, I'll update that right now. I put these up on the site late last night.

w203 c200k, r33 GTR,
just to clarify, is it $650 + $58 shipping to melbourne australia?
and i get $275 refund when i send back my stock pulley?
im a lil confused,
is there anything else necessary?
how much boost does the supercharger run after the pulley?
also does the stock ecu need to retuned to run safely?
forgot to add my car is a 2.0L m111 c200 kompressor will this still fit?

On your car you will need a lot of extra parts. Including mass air relocation pipe, colder plugs, and new fuel pressure regulator. Basically you need to upgrade to the newer style Engine Set up.

Nice deal. Why do you need a bolt? I've reused mine so many times designing that pulley and never had a problem. Belts are cheap, go to Pep Boys, $17, just a 56" 6-rib. There's install instructions on my website and I think by now, ASP gives you my instructions, but not sure.
You should try selling over on the R170 forum at benzworld.org forums, they are more likely to buy since this specific pulley fits 2000-2004 SLK 230 and ASP also has the pulley that Linh designed for the 1998-1999 SLK 230 and also a pulley set for the SLK32.
I like the comment on just copy it and make your own, sure, everyone has a machine shop in their garage.

As for the copy and make it your own, its a good idea to a point. You have to make sure what you are copying is going to sell to cove your initial outlay and if you don't own the manufacturing equipment, its gonna be pricey.
ASP makes very high quality parts and I'd rather offer a proven product then try and get greedy and steal their idea.

Haha, I like that, steal there idea, hmm, where did they get that idea, hmm, let me think, could it have been me that contacted Lee 7 years ago, sent him a factory pulley to test with and had him make some prototypes that I dyno tested many times at 2 different dynos to get this right?
I torqued that bolt to 200psi at least 15 times, no problem, but if it makes you happy, be the first to include a bolt. Heck, Brabus is $3K, Carlsson is $2K, Renntech is $1,600, Vaeth is $1,300 and no bolt in their kit, but since you know better than these tuners, you must be right. Frankly, unless that bolt came with an MB part number in a sealed package, I would rather reuse the factory one that take chances on where that bolt came from. If that head snaps off at 200psi, you are going to have some fun taking it out, or maybe paying that customer to have it taken out.

TVT DESIGN has positioned themselves as an ASP dealer and offered a GB purchase opportunity to MBW members that’s an excellent value, IMHO. Anthony did not “steal there [sic] idea.” When he first joined the forum posting under the moniker of stallion8797, there was some bull and untoward machinations flung about. Personally called him on it several times. Since then, he has assimilated himself to be a worthwhile, contributing, and honest vendor in our M-B community.
Of all the horsepower-enhancing hardware I’ve yet purchased, increasing the supercharger’s boost (via evosport’s dampened ODPS) has proven to have been the greatest ROI. emrliquidlife and C230 Sport Coup – but two respected and currently active members - have experienced similar results with their oversized M111 supercharger drive pulleys.

It is 650.00 plus the 58.00 to Australia. Then you get the 275.00 when you ship the stock one back.
