Im amazed at how many people complained in the past how "there are no mods for our cars" and lately, we've had so many great deals come up and yet no one is jumping on them. :\ 30rwhp for ~600 is pretty damn good if yall ask me. I'm sure I've spent more and made less power.
free
m111 guys jump on this!

I can't believe this is mid page. I'm telling ya boys. This pulley will rock your car. No longer will BMW 325s and Mini Coopers leave you in the dust. Installation is a breeze.
Doooooo it.
Doooooo it.

The only M111 based owner I can think of who doesn't already have it, is
Jordan....and he's been noticeably silent lately....
at least compared to his usual chatty self...![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Jordan, time to place your order. I'll help ya with the install...
meaning, I tell you what to do, and you do the actual work while I sit back and
enjoy a cold one.
Thats how I learned....and I payed 50 buck each time for the privelage for like the 1st 3 times.
Mine was on and off so many times during the warranty period...
none of it was related to the pulley, but didn't want them to have any excuses.

I routinely get 33 mpg on longer drives.
It is only noiser at WOT. Personally I think the sound is awesome.

I found it doesn't effect fuel consumption, BUT the pedal is much more touchy, so it's easier to take off quicky.
Whereas before, you had to get your foot into the pedal to get going,
now it just goes with the pedal pushed about 1".
So mileage can go down if you aren't verrrry gentle with the pedal.
E also had his SC ported, which I was reluctant to do, as I was concerned about running too lean. But apparently with him at nearly 180K miles, it hasn't been too much of a problem.
So running lean, means using LESS fuel. But only if you can manage not to get your foot into it.
In his own words, he drives his car like a grandma, and keeps the revs low.
I'm a fan of Italian tune ups so...fuggetaboutit!
For me, with all the other mods I have, it's almost impossible, the car just wants to go...pushing the pedal 1/2-1" results in me taking off faster than 90% of the people at a light etc.
Flooring it results in a sound like an F15 at takeoff. Weeeeee!
I did recently delete the MAF screen, and throttle body screen,
which you can read about on benzworld R170 forum.
It increased the intake air flow considerably, and I think my mileage has gone up due to better efficiency. And it's faster too.
If you're gonna do a pulley, delete the SC muffler, and MAF screen while you're at it for an extra 5-10HP according to my butt dyno.
You'll thank me.
As E pointed out, it's not that much noisier, you do hear the SC a tiny bit more when in the higher revs.
The best part is all the addtl. torque in the low end, which makes the car soooo much more driveable, doesn't need to downshift as much.
I paid nearly 700 for my pulley with shipping, what a deal!!!

E's experience is kinda unique in terms of his mileage as high as it is...

What kind of mileage are you getting?
YOu don't worry about having the maf screen off?
So what is the linky to benzworld?

Usually I'd be lucky to get 22 mpg on that trip.
Search on MAF screen delete, and throttle body screen delete,
R170 forum. I'm not too worried about it.
the MAF screen delete is a no brainer.
The throttle body one is a little risky, but at 138K miles there wasn't even a bit of debris in it...As long as the air filter is in good shape, like nothing damages it, and I don't drop any loose parts into the intake, I should be fine.
The MAF retains the plastic screen on the intake, you remove the bulls eye on the output side (it just snaps out), and the metal screen on the intake side (you have to go around the edges with a screwdriver and push to cut the wire screen, then grap it with needle nose pliers. it's easy; make sure you get all the wire). So you still have some protection in the form of the plastic screen.
It's needed to break up the air so the MAF can read correctly. It won't work if you remove the intake side plastic piece.
