All he did was take the resonator out, and it sounds a little louder than stock. You can get this done at any muffler shop for pretty cheap. Probably around $100 altogether.

Here is what some guy said on benzworld

Code:
"C320 it doesnt help at all > it just weak it and over heat also not responding quickly."
Here is a link on how the Resonator works. Basically when you take that out you get more sound.

http://static.howstuffworks.com/flas...ator-waves.swf

Some guy got an X-pipe and resonator delete for 150. So you should be able to get a good deal especially with this bad economy.

is it really worth it jsut to take out the resonator on a relatively stock c320? will it give a bit more sound? i dont want it loud, just a bit more rumble.

In this clip they changed the exhaust. In the first one they removed the resonator.

If your not worried about price then putting an exhaust would be the best.
Cause just the resonator is going to sound not that meaner. (IMO) Just the resonator would work. All they have to do is remove it and replace it with a pipe. A muffler shop will know what to do.

Just go and say "How much to remove my resonator?" disregard the pipe size just ask them that.
The X pipe was on a w204 C350 with resonator delete for $150. I was just giving an example that it shouldnt be more than 100 because the guy with the w204 C350 even got an x pipe done.

this is a C320 like yours and thats a member here his name is Mu9enx.
Send him a message to see how he did his and how much it was.

Edit:

I forgot he used an Eisenmann Race Exhaust. They are over $1,000 unless you can find one that's used. There is a guy here roland he has a nice setup.

you would use a straight pipe if you delete your resonator.

in this video you listed above, he changed his muffler to a magnaflow muffler. I think magnaflow gives you a pretty nice, loud and deep tone...

x-pipe on w203 doesn't do anything other than for C55. W204 can do x-pipe because it has two mufflers.

taking off the resonator and replace it with a stainless pipe is only about $40-50.

will you lose any power like back pressure if you delete the resonator?

not sure about NA, but it is not harmful in a boosted car like yours.

just found out there's no resonator for 05 c230k's, we have secondary cats. So, that ends the endless desire for me to improve the sound a lil bit more without going for the aftermarket exhaust system.

you can remove it still for a little more grunt and like 1-2whp and weight reduction. i think you only have one (though i could be wrong). you will still pass emissions as long as you you keep your primary cat(s) on

I have 2 silverline mufflers for sale if you're interested. You can use one and sell the other. lol. Or just buy one.

when you said grunt, you meant the sound right? So basically, the secondary cats works just like a resonator..or am i getting it all wrong?

for my car (C32), we have two primary cats, two secondary cats, and a resonator. a resonator is specifically designed to eliminate certain wave pulses for the stock muffler. It doesn't make a car louder overall, it just makes certain RPM ranges quieter. so obviously removing that, will make your car louder. removing your secondary cat(s) would help increase flow and remove restriction, thus making the exhaust sound a little louder.

and yes by grunt, i mean sound, my bad

you could also change your muffler. i know a lot of people are happy with the eisenmann or w/e its called. i probably wouldnt go with a magnaflow though. from what i have read and heard, they can be very droney. ask around about mufflers and droning with each type before getting one if you one to take that route.

Contemplating getting the secondaries removed as well. Have you done it?
