Would you buy a MKV VW R32?

In all seriousness, I still love my little blue lemon, but I acknowledge its deficiencies, and in hindsight, I might have waited another year for the Mini intro. If I were in the same boat today, I'd be looking seriously at the 135.

I would rather have a 135i than a bottom of the barrel 328i coupe/poser mobile. Doesn't matter if you mod it or not, I think the 135i is pretty damn nice on the inside, looks good, performs well and is not a loser mobile that the 328i coupe is.

You're the one that's going to be buying it, you're the one that's going to be driving it, no ones' opinion on the forum really matters close to your own opinion.
My 2cents are go with the R32. You'll have a fun car, that you can drive in any season. Who cares if a modded GTI will beat it. You can mod any car go to fast, just depends on how much time you have to waste and how much money you're willing to spend.

I like the simplicity of the 1, though the 3 coupe is a much sexier car on the outside.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
anyways yea if i get a R32 is b/c i want to try something different and i think its a good upgrade performance/fun wise to my w203 c320 4matic sport
i love it stock and don't think i will do turbo altho i think its cool and fast but i dont think i would do that. i may chip, intake and other small things here and there....
i like the 135, and 335 but finding a used 135 is hard and they are kinda expenisve still and if i could i would get a 335 coupe but there kinda pricey i have found a few good deals on R32 i wont buy a car untill this summer possibly earlier but i'm just doin some reasearch on a few cars and what mbworld members think.
I like the R32 b/c its a kind of car, german, raspy, fun i'm just worried about insurance and i dont want ppl think i am some young racer type... thats one of the reasons why i never got a GTi but i feel like the R32 is more grown up???

my friend thinks its a downgrade just b/c i'm goin from benz to vw but i dont really look at it that way cars are just up in the air.
so far its
E46 M3 Coupe
MK5 R32
335i Coupe??? or Xi?
just want somethin that fun, not too crazy expensive used and quick
I was surprised how low the insurnace rates are on benz. The insurance on my c32 is cheaper then it was for my 04 civic.

.. with a price range around $30k I'd go with 335i ... with a chip you get about 400hp and 400 lbs of torque !!
I drive what I like ...I could care less about what other people think when they see me driving certain vehicles. I had a Beetle 1.8T for years.
out of those three, you need to determine for yourself which will be more practical, insurance, resale, etc.
The car is underpowered for its class but it does have styling.
The r32 is a 250hp 3.2L NA V6 with awd
e46 m3 is a 333hp 3.2L NA I6 with rwd
I6 > v6
But the R32 has no room. Sort of like the S4. There is no room to work on the car that's the only bad part about them. Other than that they are one mean killing machine

R32 Turbo

Edit
It's all up preference if you are not going to fix up the car then I honestly wont get the R32. R32 is great for people who want to fix them up because they are so forgiving. If the 335 and R32 are the same price in your area no doubt get the 335. But again if you want to mod a car and make it into a beast then R32 is your best bet.

Turbo will always net more hp then a supercharger.
You should compare a turbo m3 to a turboed r32 to make it a apples to apples comparison.
To be honest with you All the fixed up E46 M3s that I have seen were supercharged I have never seen a Turbo. I never thought of it that way. Good point my new task researching Turbo kits for M3,
Can anyone chime in? Is Turbo Charging an E46 M3 not as common as Supercharging it?
I know Turbos have came a long way. Way back certain cars responded to turbos and certain cars responded to Superchargers better. For example i know the Camaro doesn't like to be near a supercharger.
Great video of Turbo E46 M3.

well you can turbo anything with enough money. There couple 1000hp m3's on you tube. Looks like a majority of them are made by horsepowerfreaks.com.
There installs look pretty clean...very oemish from looking at some of there videos.

$31,995.00
91 Octane (746hp)
91 Oct + Alc (914hp)
110 Octane (930hp)
110 Oct + Alc (951hp)
Ya your right, If you have the money you can do anything you want.
The supercharger is $9400 and nets around 500hp to the crank. Thats probably why most of them are supercharged.

The problem is, the the superchargers were the ones that were done first on the car, there are more tuners that make s/c's for it and they're easier to install.
You can make any car go fast in a straight line. Like I said, you just have to have the time and money to do it.
