New HID's

Joking aside, you should update your profile with the actual car you drive if you want help on this forum. If you have factory HIDs, they're fine. You'd need 55w ballasts and all and it's not something that would be worth it if you already had OEM HID.

Seeing as how you drive a Ford Pinto, I don't think you have this issue.

Yeah I have OEM xenons in the 135i and a 55w kit in the C230 - and the difference is huge. The 55w are great.
If you get an error, and I'm not sure you will but possibly, you can always take it to the dealer and ask them to use STAR to turn Xenon=OFF. That would solve it. I was saying personally I wouldn't upgrade just to upgrade, but if you're already spending money..

A 55w HID won't melt a housing that can handle a 55w incandescent.
Easy? I don't know. I would think it is easier to put a kit designed to replace halogens in than it would be to put said kit in to replace an OEM system. OEM system = best.

I answered this in post 128 and 130 of this thread. I have a 135i with factory xenons and a C230 with aftermarket 55w HIDs. The 55w kit on the Benz is amazing, but the car had halogens before. The regular xenons on the 135i are good enough that I could never justify extra expense to upgrade them. The guy above that asked the same question has an 02 C32, so he has reflector/frosty lenses. If you're looking for a 2006-2007 then you'll have bi-xenon projectors. I'd leave this system alone.

why do the lights on the vehicle itself the light have a green tint to it? Is it because of the camera?

On July 4th the left side bulb flickered and went dark. I removed it and tested the ballasts (they were fine). I followed Apexcone's lifetime warranty instructions and mailed the bad bulb to them in San Diego. 10 days later a PAIR of new bulbs arrived for me. Brilliant customer service. Brilliant headlights, too! I highly recommend it.

k shoot
i think i bought the wrong ones for my reflectors
i bought:
"50/55W D2S/D2R/D2C HID Conversion Kit" .......instead of
"50/55W H7 HID Conversion Kit"
will it still fit?? and if it fits, will there be lotsa glare?

so instead of returning the D2S bulbs...i decided to keep them.
shipping them back would be the same as ordering a pair of new H7s so thats what i did
hopefully they should arrive by early next week, and installed by the weekend!
i will post pics when i do!
hopefully this kit is as good as what fitty and merc says it is!
its okay if it doesnt work well since its so cheap....i just hope it doesnt damage my electrical system!

Hi guys,
so Ive been reading this thread and I think ive finally decided to make the switch to HID's.
Now I know that regular 35W HID's throw errors while 55W's dont, but the 35W's from this website are an exception.
So here are my questions:
1. Do the 35W's really work without errors?
2. The following is the list of bulbs from the website...which is the one that you guys have bought?
STANDARD H7 HID CONVERSION KIT

3. There is a 50/55W bulb available from the same site, Why did you guys choose the 35W? Is it because of the price difference?
Appreciate the help guys...I plan to place my order in as soon as I get answers to these...although I'm not sure if they ship to Canada.

It is hit or miss with these cars, 55w or 35w, regardless of brand. I have a 55w Apexcone that has worked perfectly without errors. Others have the same kit and have had errors. Some get them, some don't. I can tell you that the performance difference between 35w and 55w is very noticeable and I wouldn't pick 35w, errors aside. It was $15 to upgrade to 55w and worth every cent.

Sweet!! A fellow Canadian!!
How does your car get along in the crazy AB winter? I'm in Ottawa..Quite a ways from where you are.
So no errors etc when you installed them?

What kind of performance difference are we talking about? I know the OEM lights are 55W, but does putting in a 35W lamp make them dimmer? Or is the performance better in terms of longevity?

I ordered them on sat. they shipped out on monday. base on the tracking, it should arrive within couple of days. if it does, i'll install them this weekend and let you know!
and i just got this car few weeks ago.... was a gift
....so no experience with the AB weather.
if your not itching to get the kit right away, i suggest maybe you hold off the purchase for a week. i can always give u a heads up first whether they are worth the purchase.
