MBTech - COMAND question...
quick question - I had a MB European COMAND installed in my car...01 C320....if I ever have a problem with this unit, will my dealer handle it under warrantry or will they question me about the part number or ???

thought so...I wonder what the reliability of COMAND is ?? I mean is this an item that is routinely swapped out due to probs ??

There are several service centers that will repair the comand so dont worry...Except You Will Have to pay for the repairs ..

If you want a comand that is warantied by MBUSA, you have to get one from them...and pay their price IF they are willing to sell you one...according to MB adding a comand afterwards is not possible.
If you don't want to pay the MBUSA comand price (what did you say Mark; 5400USD for a refurbished and 7200USD for a new comand?), you can get yourself something cheaper with a 3 month warranty (what you already did) and risk having to repair it IF it malfunctions after a while which is very doable (and not that expensive)...for the price you paid, you can get 5 comands and still save some (shipping) money compared to the MBUSA refurbished price...
The biggest problems these comands deal with are worn lasers...mainly caused by intensive use of music CDs (instead of using the CD changer for music and the CD rom drive only for the nav CD).
