De-Badge a 2004 C230 Kompressor

Hey Guys - I am new to this and I know there is alot of talk in other threads about de-badging, but there is alot of mention of doing it as soon as you can. I recently bought a 2004 and would like to de-badge the entire rear. I am just worried as its an older one and I am not sure if I need to take special pre-caution doing it, I would hate to have to scramble to find new badges just to have to put it back on.

Should I try it?

If there is anyone in San Francisco/Bay Area that would do it for me, I'd pay...but I would want someone who has done it to their own, not just thinking they can do it

FYI, the center star is not held on with the 3M tape like the other badges. You will have holes in the drunk if you remove it.

I know the Kompressor badge will come off cleanly, as my 2005 never had one from the time I got it.

I think there's a sticky on how to do this quite well.

All precautions and what-nots to worry about are in that thread.
Just searchup:

de-badge, debadging, badge

Hairdryer and a piece of fishing string...heat the badges up and slide the string behind.

Thanks everyone - I am most concerned with the age of the car and any troubles I will run into because the letters have been stuck on for the past 5 years....

If you don't have fishing line, you could use dental floss also. Worked great on our BMW.
