Interesting enough, the spec on the car does not have any reference to it; and I didn't find any extra sticker saying that's something added by the dealer. Not to mention that I never seen this option in mbusa web site....

So anyone knows how does these 2 tone steering wheels falls into this C230K sedan?

So this is a car that you saw in person, at a dealer in CA? I have never seen that two-tone, I don't know how it got there.

 

Yep, I saw there in person. In fact I was in the car when I took the picture. The car was in Bay Area, CA when I took the picture. Great car, if it's orion blue on black with 6 spd I might already bought it :p

Btw, I checked a couple of C230K and C320 sports sedans there and this was the only one has the 2 tone steering wheel; and the salesperson I talk to didn't have a clue how to get the steering wheel either...

 

I've seen that steering wheel before on another Merc (can't recall which one off the top of my head). Weird that it ended up on a C230K - guess that was what the guy (or robot) at the factory fished out of the parts bin for that particular car.

Well, if I ever seen one come in to my dealer, I will try to find out what makes it have that wheel. But I can say that I am not too impressed with it. It's okay looking, but I've seen much better. What is the piece in between the two colors? Is that a strip of chrome?

Yes, a strip of chrome. Well, it's true that there're some better steering wheels out there, like the one comes with some AMG cars. However, for a $28k base price MB without extra charge, I think that is good enough.

 

Yeah, it's probably better than nothing. I kinda like the one with the charcoal interior that whatup posted. I'd probably even take it over the wood wheel for the C-class. I hate how they make them with the wood just on the inside of the wheel. I like it when the whole top part of the wheel is wood, so when you wrap your hand around it, it is all wood, not leather on top.

 

i saw a c230 sport sedan with it as well, at Euromotorcars in bethesda, maryland. There were 2 of the sedans there, one with that steering wheel and one without......The other thing I noticed about that particular car was that on the outside next to the door it said "Sport" I checked out the sticker on it and no mention of an added option or anything. very fishy.

It's supposed to say sport, it's a sport sedan. Did the one car say sport and the other didn't?? I think every one I have seen has the sport badge, but i'm not positive.

 

the one with that steering wheel said sport but the other one did not say it.
