I would say one more thing needs to be red. I don't know what but it looks like it needs more. Maybe caliper?

EDIT : How long do you thing vinyl will last ? (hot summer, dirt, car wash twice a week, & im not a vinyl expert )

i would leave the tails un-tinted, or maybe tint the clear so its all red and black. I'm doing blue lips whenever i get new wheels or paint the ones i have black

yes taught about that, i already have the 05 tails....
if im going to do the red lip im definitly tinting the white part,
if not im tinting the red part...

but still the question is :
how much time will they last ? (dirt, summer, wash...) ???

I've said it before I'll say it again - infected's wheels look sweet. They are what MB should have put on from the start. a Good blend of not too 'loud' / obnoxious and not too OEM.

If I have the $$$, I'd be installing a set of those.

I would say try yellow instead of red. I saw a E46 M3 with yellow on black wheels, looks VERY sexy and does not look rice or Jap at all.

i like it very much, but i still think that it would have looked better if it was in red....
and the black lip + time attack looks better, but its much more complicated to do with vinyl...
advans has already done that.. it looked better than the all red lip...
i think i can wrap the lip in black vinyl, then use the precut time attack ring made for motocycles.... what do you think ? (motorcycles red time attack comes in 6 or 10mm)..


EDIT : i ordered black vinyl, and red time attack precut for motocycles... we'll c what happens....

well, I had my interior matched RED, it looked great at shows and meets, since I either had the doors opened or windows down.

as for the picture above (reply #20) its a full black lip with a thin time attack ring.

right now, I removed all the vinyl, in the process of re-finishing the wheels, I'm painting the lips matte black and adding back the thin red time attack, or I might go with white, or CF vinyl. def will update once this is done!

the FULL RED lip catches a lot of attention, thats a definite.

how long did the vinlyled lip last ? will it at least last a full summer ?
i would have refinished my wheels, but they are still new so that would be a waste..

The vinyl lip will last as long as you dont curb it, and will last if done correctly, make sure you heat up the vinyl, stretch on the wheel lips, then let it settle back to cold (shrinkage) before you cut it, otherwise you'll have a shrunken lip!

well the red stripe is pre cut..
as for the black vinyl, i was planning on dividing the lip into 4 pieces (just like the red lip).... do you think thats best ?
and what do you mean by let it settle back to cold before i cut ? i taught id measure the lip, precut the vinyl, it will stretch when heated so ill cut the extra after ive applied it..
