MTEC HID Resonator Needed!!!
I bought black DEPO Projector headlights and bought the MTEC 6000K HID kit as well. I had my local shop install everything beautifully. But the HID lights are running all the time and we could not modify the lights options in the computer so the lights are running at all times. The HID is starting to burn the DEPO headlight casing around the lens and is going to get worse throughout the summer.
Has anybody heard of a resonator to help turn them off and just have the day time running lights on throughout the day, then manually turn on the front head lights???
The shop told me to search for the actual manufacture of the HID kit and get a resonator from them. But when I search for the 'Mtec Advanced Systems' their phone and website does not work...
Anybody have any advice or other parts I could pay to help out would help out alot....
Thanks

if you havE a 35watt hid kit, you need to go the dealer and set it to xenon present. The car is expecting 55watts and only seeing 35watts so it turns off the head light because it thinks there's no head light there.

does your menu screen under your speedometer detect your headlights out..? if so, you might want to try these out.. i bought a fog light HID kit here in a group buy a while ago, they sent these error cancellers that connect to the kit and clears all problems.. give em a try, their cheap. hope this helps..![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I have that same MTEC kit and haven't had any problems, so i don't think you need to set it to xenon present as i didn't need to. So you're saying they're on all the time or just when the car is running?

1) I believe that the kit is a real Mtec because of the box, sticker, manual etc it came with. But who really knows these days, but i do think they are real.
2) Like they advertise there is no error coming up or any flickering or problems with them at all. The problem is that when i start my car, (and do-not turn on my head lights manually i.e headlight control).....The HID kits comes on automatic and is on 24/7 when the car is running.
3) But when I put the e-brake on and let the car idle for a minute or two the headlights turn off like they are suppose it, like the OEM headlights.
4) Furthermore I am pretty orginized when I got everything togethor and actually printed off the "HID lights Turn On Manual" from this forum with pictures and steps by step details of how to turn on the HID function on the computer. My local shop actually laughed at me because all they work on higher end European Cars (Mercedes, BMW, Lambos etc) and of course they knew how to turn on a HID function on a 04' C Class lol. But nevertheless i could see people forgetting to do this. But don't think it is the problem.
"sounds like you have the "Day-time running light" on. no W203 headlight stays on during the day unless you have "DRL" on."
...............I will look into this day time running light function.....
Also I will look at these HID harness and see if maybe that can help this problem, I thought buying the DEPO aftermarket was pretty safe, but the problem I guess is the HID kit runbning all the time. But still plastic casing around the LENS sounds kind of dumb considering how hot the HID burn.....
Any other ideas or advice would be appreciated....
Cheers to all the suggestions...

Troubles finding Running Day Time Lights Switch???
Before I go back to the shop, to turn the DTR off you have to access the main computer. We did that on my 2004 model and we could not find any function that would allow me to turn off or on the Day Time running lights????
Any help or suggestions where to look?
Thanks

Hey Frank, those Canada guys don't have that option like we USA folks. His car is using his HID as DRL (as mandatory in Canada) and he is trying to find a way to get around it. The W203 up there doesn't have the MFD option of turning off DRL.

you can just buy harness like this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RELAY...spagenameZWDVW
connect one end to the battery, the other to the ballasts. Then you can connect the trigger part of the relay to a your side marker or your own individual switch. If you connect it to a switch you can turn it on or off independent of the mercedes system.
Honestly it gonna cost you probably $30 for the harness and switch and about 1hr of your time.
if you use the switch you won't get light alerts either. if you do the side marker method, you will get sider marker alerts since its drawing more voltage then stock, it won't do anything to the car but its just annoying to tab out of the alerts.

still no solution yet
I have taken it twise to get the DTR light switch turned off using the star computer and there is no option for that on Canadian cars...
Now I am pretty stuck because I do-not believe the HID wiring harness will do anything because I HAVE NO ERRORS OR FLICKERING or any problems with the kit at all......
They are just running 24/7 when the car is running.....any other ideas???? suggestions???
cheers

I had DEPOs and ProLumen HID kit before and my headlights were always on whenever I was driving the car, no problems on my end. I had DEPOs for 2 years.
