Bluetooth in an '05 C240

Hey guys, I just joined the forums a few days ago after my dad bought an '05 C240 for my mom. I've been searching the forums for more information on how my mom can use a phone hands free. It's prewired for a phone, but there's no cradle, just the black piece of felt covering the slot. I think we've decided on the Parrot CK3200, and so I think I only need the actual module and a steering wheel cable so my mom can use the steering wheel controls. Also, in case it helps, the radio says "No Phone" when the phone button is pressed, and I'm pretty sure it's an Audio 20, no HK or Bose package. I just have a few questions for anyone who's been in the same boat:

1. Has anyone installed it themselves? Was it terribly difficult, do you have any tips/tricks, etc.?

2. Would these be the correct parts: http://http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PARROT-CK3200-LS-3200-3200LS-BLUETOOTH-CAR-KIT-V4_W0QQitemZ280341335888QQcmdZViewItemQQptZBluetoo th_Wireless_Products?hash=item4145a54f50&_trksid=p 3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A15|39%3A1|240%3A 1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

3. Is the voice activation only for voice signatures that have been stored previously, or will it also allow for inputting numbers individually, such as "Call 1-8-0-0..."?

Thank you very much for your help, and all the incredible info on the forums!

I don't know anything about the parrot, but if you want to go oem you need

MHI Control Module
Contact plate
Most optical Cable
Blue tooth module

It also requires dealer version coding. If you read/search in the electronics forum these types of questions have been answered before.

I know all about that, and how expensive it is, which is why I had pretty much decided on going the Parrot route to begin with. My question was really meant to get some info on installing the Parrot product correctly, or any other solution that would do about the same thing at around the same price. Thank you for your reply.

Sorry I only know about the factory system which I installed in my (also prewired) 05 C240. The list previously posted is correct except that you do not need any optical cabling, it is all there ready to plug in.

You would also need the bracket to mount the MHI module, unless you want to get creative and attach it to the satellite receiver module which is already there (that's how I did it).

Somewhere around $500 if I remember correctly, but that was a really good deal at the time. It looks like all the parts together are available on ebay for nearly $900 which is a hell of a price. If you keep an eye out on ebay and in the classified section you can probably do much better.

I actually paid less for my 07 comand unit w/ reverse camera than I did for the phone kit (took months of watching ebay to find such a deal).
