I assumed the Harmon/Kardon system had badges on the front doors since that's how it is in our S class. And the Bose badges have them on the front grills as well on other models... didn't know C class was different.

I'm sorry, what? We've had this figured out for days now. No one is confused about anything. The confusing part for me was understanding why just one (of 2) rear speakers would have a HK badge. I never said or implied that I had the HK system, I simply asked him to confirm that his car had HK badges on speakers in some location. The badges are on the front doors in the coupes (my mistake), but are on front doors in W204 cars (loaners). So I got the idea of them being on the front door speaker grilles because Mercedes is known to put them there. You would know this if you knew more about Mercedes.

We determined he had HK Logic7 and I gave him a thread to a similar issue. He is under warranty, so all is good.

I don't appreciate being called out in a thread where 1) the problem was solved and 2) by someone who didn't even finish reading the thread.

Well if you were specifically talking about w203, and NOT a Mercedes in general, in which we are talking about in the first place, then your assumption that badges are in the front is clearly irrelevant. Im not trying to call out anyone, it was just funny to read how something so simple is complicated.

And btw, i read the entire thread, and if you read my quote mention above AGAIN, I was not directly responding to the problem in the first place, so i dont care if it was resolved days ago; "im not a sound diagnostic expert".
i was stating how funny is was to read the assumptions made by determining a premium sound system.

My dad has an S-class and M-class, both of which does have badges in the front, so yes, i do know about Mercs... and where theyre badges are. lol

Your responses to this thread are not, in any way, beneficial to this thread, nor do they help with the OP's problem. You have admitted this yourself. This thread was created by the OP to have his question answered, not to be laughed at for not knowing what sound system he has. If you don't have anything productive to say, then please don't say anything. All you have succeeded in doing is upping your post count by two, and annoying a couple of guys who were actually trying to help.

Please make sure future posts are at least coherent, holy. There was nothing amusing about asking him to find HK badges on his speakers. And it's even less amusing to drag a resolved thread up to laugh at a problem you clearly didn't understand.

I'll go lodge a claim just in case. It hasn't happened in the past 2 days, so I'm hoping it stays that way. I'm kinda' glad that the HK was the only one system available. Sweeet. Free upgrade (kinda'...)

Definitely make a complaint to your dealership so they have a record of it. Also, the HK was a package deal so whoever bought your car originally (or you if you did) paid for it. The standard system is Audio 20, which is not bad, IMO.

It happened again....
I turned the car on/off twice, and it worked again.

But I'm going to tell them about it during Service A.

My two cents here...

I have the 06 C230 and have experienced the exact same thing twice with mine. It happened both times with mine from a cold start. Both times, I turned the car off and back on again and walla....it was back on. I too have the HK logo on the back deck grills. Let me clarify that no other speaker grills have the HK logo hahaha...but that Russain site listed mine as a bose also with the changer in the trunk although it in the glove box. Oh well, my Benz is still under warranty also so let me know what they say about this problem if you would please. Thanks

I have an 05 with HK and this happened to me 3x. 1st time it eventually came back on after a few days. 2nd time the dealer changed the amp. 3rd time was a loose fuse. 25amp fuse in the driver side. Hasn't happened since.

If I put in an after market head unit and rewire all the speakers can i pull out my amp? Or do other componets rely on it? Was looking to sell it.
