Battery/Alternator problem

I don't think the W203 will turn off its lights in the ON position. Not willing to try it myself though. You let me know how it turns out.

Check my edit, and if I ever forget to turn off my lights, I'll let you know what happens. I keep jumper cables in my car all the time anyway, so I shouldn't have to call the 800 number.

I just hope it's the battery and not the Alternator. And if its the Alternator than it's the Voltage Regulator.

That's more than they are on most websites.. are you looking at a C230? Getmercedesparts will sell you one for $640. That said, I've found them for as low as $300.. if I could only remember where. Rebuilt of course.

Anyone know why? Does this mean the 300 dollars one for the C32 wont work on the 06 and 07?

i know on the newer models the voltage regulator is replaceable. on the c32 it wasn't, so i would try that first. Usually alternators last a long time. The alternator on my integra lasted 160k.

Still a lot cheaper than most places from the site you provided you save almost 400 bucks

Had my original battery changed earlier this year when I got the same msg. Battery was done along with my alternator when it failed the load test after the drop a new battery in the car. OEM lasted 6 years.. Better than some of the other stuff sold out there.. Oh yeah, it ran me $1300.00 to fix it..
