As for 13k I can't comment. You can always offer less and come up. Cars are not moving quickly right now.

Do.
Not.
Rush.
Cars are seriously NOT moving in this economy.
The car will probably still be there for another 2~3/4 weeks.
Shop around craigslist, other dealers, etc.
13k for a c230 with 80k miles is kinda' high.
I bought my car with 15k miles for under $20k after everything.
And by everything, i mean... taxes, insurance.
I didn't find it on my first day, nor my second, but on my third day it just came up. Lol. I wasn't looking for this car specifically, but it was in the right price range, and everything i really 'needed' was there. So I picked it up.
Wait for that feeling when you yourself KNOW it's a good deal. Otherwise, you'll wind up regretting it when you look up the same car a few days later.
"Oh look, another 03 c230. ~$15k... ~20~30kmiles."
You do not want to think that.
So have PATIENCE.
The sight of a full detailed car at a dealership is VERY VERY alluring. It's almost a pain to WALK AWAY. But you can do it.
Just don't go to the dealership with a checkbook or cash.
It's just that easy.
There are really no Once in a lifetime deals at dealerships. They can't afford it. So don't worry.
Happy shopping. This is where half the fun of owning a car comes from.

Is $13k your limit?? If so, I would consider other vehicles in the same price range with less miles. If you do a 4 year loan, the car could have about 130k miles on it and be practically worthless...

Okay so it's a bad deal...80k miles is a bit too high considering there are 05-06 c230 with 40-50k miles for around 15k on craigslist. (But white are so hard to find).....13k is the limit i would pay for a 05-06 c230. Im not looking for a loan, i will pay cash.

80k miles is too high for my liking, but If you "have to have" this car, I'd offer MUCH, much less.

Since when is 80k miles the graveyard? I have 52k on mine and it runs just as good as it did at 1/2 that.
If it has service records, and you can get it for like 11.5-12k - I say take it. My car will have 80k in another year (I drive a lot) and I can't imagine that's all for it. Scottisha on here has 180,000 on his 2005 C230 and it shows no signs of stopping.

It's not the 80K it's how it's run the 80K. If it's been well maintained & run 80K quickly on long trips - then that's great - Better than a car at half that mileage stop/start in town. Do your homework. Try & talk to the previous owner. I can't comment on price. All American pricing is cheap to us.

80k miles isn’t a graveyard, but would you buy a "new" car with that amount?? Its not about 80k being "all for it", but dropping over 10k on ANY car with 80k miles is no good IMO.

No you're fine. Use the search function and you'll be good. We appreciate contributions from anyone regardless of time or post count. If you can verify the M271 has a timing belt or not I'd appreciate it.

From my (amateur) knowledge, W203s are on timing chains and there's no need to change the belt unlike Audis or BMWs. With regards to mileage, my friend's c230k currently has 150k miles and is still running very very strong. Electronics are a bit of an issue though; windows and sunroof regularly have problems going up/down, and the lights go out every now and then and he has to replace the bulb. Nothing major though.
