My car's production date is 1-25-2005. It's 5 years old today and has 73,307 miles. On its 4th birthday it had just 40,100 - so it leads a fast paced life!
I was racking my brain for some "news" to update this thread with about the car but there's really nothing to say. It has never given me any problem. I'm thinking of making a cross-country drive in it this summer to SoCal (no, not just to see Karo.. lol) so that may be a fun adventure.

You know it's bad when friends notice it. Especially friends who aren't that observant. So I drove it through an automatic wash that does a great job. I get out to inspect the car and notice it is literally covered with tar! They've been doing some rather pointless roadwork near my house and I hadn't realized that my car was being covered in tar (and it was too dirty to notice). So I've been working on getting that stuff off and it is not easy.

Oh Glyn - I forgot - the C230 is getting an oil analysis for its 5th birthday.
The oil is Mobil 1 0W-40 Euro that met 229.5 standards.
No oil was added during the service life.
The service life was 12,900 miles.
The filter was Mann and paper.
I'll post the results in a new thread when I get them in the mail.

I really am expecting them to tell me the oil is fine. I'm going to be disheartened if they recommend an earlier change. I want to follow the computer. The OCD side of me will be infuriated at feeling like I have to perform service when the system is saying I have thousands of miles left.

You might well be fine if the car is operated in mild conditions. Benz have to engineer for worst case scenario for obvious reasons. Silica is the killer

Congrats on the job Matt. How much do they pay for a Vibrator Tester? From what Trey tells me you have over 10 years of experience so they must pay you well.
