Thank you, that's the help I needed, job complete. Now the car still wont start though. When I turn the key, I can hear the starter click and the fuel pump - it just doesn't turn over. I tried jumping it but that didn't help. It isn't throwing any codes either. I'm kind of at a loss here.

These cars can be difficult to jump & it's not advised. Have you tried a fully charged battery?

Problem with the starter motor or the connections to or in the motor. The solenoid kicks the starter gear into the ring gear & then the motor connection is made & the starter motor should start cranking. If you can hear the solenoid clicking then it's likely the problem lies with the motor itself. Can be many things - contacts brushes etc. First thing to check is the HT wiring connections to the starter motor & earth straps to ensure the motor is getting sufficient power - after that the motor internals & HT switching.

w203.045, also there are, 2 Racing Minis ,1 Lotus elan+2,1 Hyundai getz 1.6 .Some other passed.
Very good analysis Glyn,
add only, the case that some times the starter gear slipps into its own drive shaft(stator), and must be replaced. It is easy to check it, if the starter is out.
