Doh! Don't grind the bolts, don't go to an ordinary tire shop, and have your brakes checked for damage from the too long bolts.

Now you are in luck, a shop that can get you the proper hardware, with correct coating is nearby in Huntington Beach. You will get what you need there.

$ 104 for a barrel of oil that costs $ 4 to take out of the ground is rediculous. A bolt that sells for Euro 3.00 in Germany is bargain priced at $ 4.77 after shipping to California.

Extra set of OEM lug bolts?

I just bought some stock wheels and the seller didn't include lug bolts (even though he said he would), so I'm wondering if any of you have an extra set of OEM lugs laying around you wouldn't mind selling (or giving ) to me. I know chances are slim, but guess it's worth a shot.

For sure I have 10 of them but my car is currently at the dealership.

When I get it back, I will try to dig the trunk if there are some extras.

Blake, I've got a set of 10 from the original C7 rims, as well as a set of 10 from my OZ rims (have decided to do the spacers on the rear wheels full-time, so that's why I have two groups of ten).

I'll check tomorrow to see if they're the same length (won't be home til tomorrow night); I think they are, or at least close enough to not give any issues. If so, just reimburse me shipping, and they're yours.

Ok thanks, let me know Tommy!

EDIT: Also, I assume the OZ lugs are ball seat as well?

Actually, that was a joke until I realized that I have no idea. I'll post tomorrow what I find, but at least you'd have 10 freebies from me, worst-case scenario.

I have a full set of 20 OEM bolts for the W203. Extras when I picked up my set of C32 wheels. They're even sitting in a box too

Shipping might be kinda pricey (I'll be shipping from Seattle), but PM me if interested.

Replacing lug bolts...with car still on the ground?

This may be a slightly stupid or overly cautious question, but here's the deal. My OEM lugs are rusting pretty badly, so I ordered a new set of chrome-plated lugs. I live in a condo and therefore have never bothered to purchase a jack or stands because I don't do any brake, suspension, etc. work if for no other reason than I have no driveway, garage, or other space to get the car off the ground.

If I want to replace the old lug bolts, would there be any problems/issues with me taking just one old bolt off at a time (so that there would always be four others holding the wheel on) and then screwing a new one in its place (repeating until each wheel has all new lugs)?

shouldnt be a problem...just taking just one as a time and replace with your chrome one. I just did it yesterday.

Sounds ok by me. Just correctly torque each bolt as you go.

Wheel is probably going to shift a little, so IF you cannot get it on jackstands, I would most definitely re-check the torque and tighten after driving a few miles.

If you didn't know, 81lbs is the proper spec

I wouldn't do it... use the jack that comes with your car (don't you have one?)

I've done it before that way and never ran into any problems. I know it's not recommended but as previously mentioned, make sure you torque them to the right specs then drive around a while and re-torque.
