has anyone looked at the RENNtech site lately. They list a SC upgrade for the C320 that puts out 400+hp

They just did that to make Kleemann look cheap! Does the $23K include installation?

 

no, installation is another $2,100

 

i know some guy that is opening up a shop in west LA that is supposed to be the westcoast authorized dealer of renntech. Meridian Automotive Design. not open yet, but i'm hoping i can get some good deals.

 

For that much it sounds like they are dropping in another engine!

 

from what they say, they rebuild the engine from the crank up to make it stronger then add an AMG supercharger

 

Now I have to trade in my C230 for a C320 coupe so I can add this.

 

The C320 Coupe plus the upgrade is almost the same price as a C32, but with 2 fewer doors and less the factory warranty

 

Well, at least then, your car would deserve that Renntech sticker on the back.

 

RENNtech claims says they will pickup the remainder of the factory warranty

 

I'm all about big h.p.; ...if they can make it USA 50 state smog legal. To date, I don't think any of them have even tried, even though the biggest market would be California.

 

No, they are not CARB approved, but he did tell me that it would pass and where to take it.

 

Flat out illegal- anyone who would risk faking a CA smog test (as in looking the other way over no EO number) would face HUGE fines.

It cannot pass if is not certified by CARB. CARB emissions ceritifications ensure the item will meet emissions standards after 50,000 miles with no maintenance. (CARB may have raised the mileage standard, not sure.)
