Thanks guys! These are a perfect fit and upgrade! They really fill out the rear end of the coupe.
Send a PM to Taylor210, he specializes in reselling OEM wheel sets. He got me this whole set with tires with only 400 miles on them for around $1000.
Nope, no spacers.

I'm not sure I'd go with the Primacy. I've heard the General Exclaim UHP are good and the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season are better. Read the reviews on tirerack, they'll help you out.

only thing is that i hate how the rear tires are different size than the front, because they wear out fast and can't be rotated...

Michelins were softer/smoother, but horrible in the rain, but the Goodyears handle great... so it depends where your interests are.

Anyone selling one or two stock 16" C Class rims?
One of my rims has a damn bend and the other has some curb rash. Maybe youre in the same position and willing to sell the ones in good condition. They dont have to be in PERFECT condition as these are going to be my winter wheels.
Considering the number of people who upgrade/mod here, its very likely that youre looking to get rid of your stock rims.
Looking for one single or two stock C Class rims (pic attached).
PM me with a price including shipping to Ottawa, Canada if you have em.
Thanks.

That's odd... I have the Michelin Pilot Primacy tires, and mine are actually great in the rain, I just don't like their dry grip.
The Generals, I've heard, are great for grip and also a very smooth ride. The flaw in the Generals is immediate steering response, but once you get the car into the turn, the grip is amazing. They also seem to be good on wear. And they're one of the lease expensive tires out there, but still great quality.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons are also great on grip, but have very good immediate steering response. The flaw is that they are a bit rough and that they have a decently high cost.
Most comments I have heard suggest that, if you have the money for the F1s and don't mind a slightly rougher ride, get them. If you want a smooth ride, at a great price, with only a small loss in immediate steering response, get the Generals.
Also, the F1s have carbon fiber reenforced side-walls, hence the rougher ride.

Then you didn't look hard enough on Flea-Bay,... here's two,... both auction ending in 24 hours and current bid is $0.99,.... and judging from your photo,... a perfect match.
"Used Mercedes C230 Coupe 16" wheel (no reserve)" ebay item#: 330333819248

BTW, don't get them shipped to Canada via UPS Ground,... they'll charge a huge brokerage/service fee. Go with FedEx or USPS,... anything but UPS.

Thanks SunnyRayToronto.
I have no clue how I missed those
Ive messaged the seller to see if theyll ship using Fedex/USPS. Hopefully I get a response before the auction ends.
I found an ad for someone selling the same rims (used) for $200 a piece in the Niagra area. I think thats a ripoff!

Need some info. Is it OK to use rims of two different sizes on the front and back.
I might consider using 17 inch rims on the rear and 16 inch rims on the front on my 2002 C230 coupe. Is that OK/advisable?
What about driving in snow using that setup?
Thanks guys.

Did you search this site's classified section?
Not sure about running rims of different sizes front and back. It looks like the ESP would have issues with that, but I don't actually know.. maybe someone can answer.

I am pretty sure that ESP would be bothered by two different sizes... I mean, you could compensate with wheel sizes, but that would be odd. I wouldn't try it.

Unfortunately those e-bay items are not shipped to Canada.
By the way, I have those exact rims on my C230K sedan. It's ridiculous how much the dealer charges for these ($400 + EACH).
Unfortunately, I am not selling any of mine at this time. I might relegate them to winter use, and buy some new ones for summer.

It makes sense to think that ESP would have to compare different wheel speeds to make decisions, but this may not actually matter. The spare wheel doesn't always have the same rim diameter in cars with ESP to my knowledge. Also, even just changing tire sizes can cause small fluctuations which doesn't cause problems. We definitely need someone with experience to post in this thread cause I am curious too.

Overall, it's a decent tire. It was probably very reasonably priced. I only paid $504 for all four, mounted, balanced, and with tax.

please try to keep the thread related to the Subject Topic = Wheels for the Coupe.
It has now migrated to: types of tires
There are plenty of discussion threads relating to both these topics, so eventually I'll merge if it sways one way or the other.
Thanks !
