2001 C240 6spd
I am not sure if I like the new C32 wheels on the C-Coupe...I bought them for my C240 sedan(which I like)...I prefer the Brabus Type VI on the C-Coupe....or maybe it will be things to come...C23 AMG? ....hey they have the C-wagon AMG in Europe already...so, what's next?

why C32s have 17" wheels
Februrary issue of Mercedes Enthusiast has a nice article on the SL55 (my next car ), and an interesting paragraph:
<b>"You can have 19-inch AMG five-spoke wheels as an option (for SL55)," Tobias (Tobias Moers, Head of Large Scale Model Series at Mercedes-AMG) tells us, "but while they may look more aggressive to some eyes, they do begin to introduce a touch of tramlining on bumpy, cambered roads."
(my edit/correction?)
"This is the reason we used 17 and not 18-inch wheels on the C32 AMG," Domingos (Domingos Piedade, Joint Managing Director, Mercedes-AMG). "Although we are the high-performance and you could say 'fun' division of Mercedes-Benz, we still have to make cars to suit a wide variety of tastes. But if you want a more extreme and tightly-focused car, we can do that for you through our 'special wishes' department."
Explaining the tyre choice for the SL55, Tobias continues: "Although we favour the Dunlop SP9000 on our bigger cars like the S55 and the CL55 AMG, we settled on the Pirelli P-Zero Assimetrico and Michelin Pilot Sport for the more sporty SL55. Both work very well, but the Pirelli just has the edge for handling, the Michelins for comfort."</b>
any typos introduced are mine...

C32 AMG, Volvo S80T6
if you read between the lines..
they are saying they do have the 18" or better. They just dont offer it or the dealers are not savy enough, to get them for us. We all know that AMG does almost anything for European customers.. thats where they made their marque. Im not convinced that for a price, you cant get some options here.

money talks... if your willing to pay for it, they will make it.
my dealership said they would be more then willing to get a designo interior for the coupe, at the low low cost of 18k extra
yea 18k.

No you don't have to cuz the C7's are 17's, and if you decide to lower it do the whole thing struts springs everything. Congrats on the wheels, and if you get a chance post some pics.

I put 17" wheels on my C240 and think they look fine without lowering the car. It also depends on the reason you want to lower the car...stiffen up your suspension or just to get rid of some of the gap between the tire and wheel well? If I decide to lower my car, I would change the shock/spring assembly, not just the springs...like the H&R cup kit....they claim it lowers the car 2".

Do you get a rougher ride with C7 17's vs. Standard 16's?
Has anyone had a chance to compare the ride-17's vs. 16's?
I hear that the optional 17's give you better handling but do they
also give you a rougher ride? Is there any difference in tire
pavement noise between the two?
Thanks in advance for helping me in making informed decisions.
