did you ever notice that the mb wipers don't leave that little triangular space inbetween the wipers at the bottom of the windshield when it swipes? it manages to clear all the space.

Interesting you mention that, young. It's rained the last two days here in Dallas (very unusual), and I've noticed the same thing.

But, of course, I'm certain someone will eventually chime in that a 3-series BMW wiper does it better.

I noticed that on the way to work this morning. The passager side wiper seems to adjust up and down as it works. I remember the old 190E's used to have only one wiper that did this, and I think the current E class does too.

The current E class does...

I was sort of hoping that MB would use this as a 'signature' on all new models, but I guess it would cost a lot to engineer something like that for an "entry level" car.

The drivers side wiper seems conventional, i.e., an arm on a post. But watch the passenger side, it has an extra, diagonal lever attached that sort of makes that side perform a sideways slide movement, not just an arc from a fixed pivot point.

Yep, that's right. The passenger side arm "slides" to the left as it rotates varying it's arc. I first saw this type of linkage on my brother-in-laws RX300.

my BMW E36/7 does NOT clear the windscreen the same way the MBs do... I envy my mothers ML for that at times.

I also envy the bad-*** mirror-mounted turn-signals, very smooth.
I wish we had tele-aid and Home-link, and I wish we had cooler keys.

happy bob?

Just keep up those positive vibes, dasMafia. You're starting to come around...

young, I'm still trying to figure out your new avatar. What's that action about, anyway? I keep thinking "Aliens" (the second movie).

Back in the day, I had a C-coupeish Isuzu Impulse with a single big-*** windshield wiper mounted dead in the center.

Didn't MB have a model with a single front wiper?

Yes. The 190E (circa around 85) had a single wiper, as does the current E Class.

I dated a girl a long time ago that drove an Uno. This also had one single wiper in the middle, however, it did only made the normal Arc motion, and did not adjust the way that the MBs do.
