Car shaking Problem
Today I jacked my car up and took off my front two tires to check out my brakes and when i put then back on and drove my car and steering wheel started to shake. it starts a light shake around 40-45 then gets worse the faster you go but around 80 mph i can go any faster because the shaking is so bad. how can i fix this?? Its woring me and driving me crazy!

I would take the wheels back off and make sure you mount them back on tight in a star pattern with the lugs. Maybe one of your lugs isnt on there tight and your wheels are moving the slightest bit and thats what your feeling. Check it out and see what you find out.

well i have an air compressor and i used the gun lik at the tire shops but ill try hand tighting it but my friend said i could have also over torqued it. is tht possible too?

Yes because you might have one tightened too much where it throws the wheel off because the air gun while the others are at the right torque. I prefer to do it by hand because then you really cant over tighten them unless your on a roid rage!!

Don't drive again until you fix this. I'm guessing at least one of the wheels is not seated correctly on the hub. Remove tires and check hub and mating face of rims for anything (gunk, corrosion, etc.) that would keep them from mating correctly. When you reinstall tires make sure they lie flat against the hub when you install the first bolt.
ohk i will diffenetly keep tht in mind tomorrow. thanks

You should always use a torque wrench when applying the final torque value. You can easily over-torque and weaken the lug bolts if they are over-torqued.
