Digital Temp gauge for '05+...

I've seen this in one other c-class...i think it was a c55 but I've never seen it again...was this an option or did he use for a clk or something along those lines?

You're looking for a digital temp gauge for a 2005+ C-class, right? The question is not clear.

does anyone know if this will work in an '05 even though i don't have digital now? is it a direct replacement with the cable that is already existing?

Okay the temp. gauge is in the instrument cluster. What you're referring to is the HVAC control panel. This explains why I'm sitting here thinking "WTF". I have no idea.

I upgraded to it...main reason was for WINTER USE with the [REST] Feature. STF (and the w203 AMG forum, that is where I have most of my images, information) and you will find all you want to know.

However, it is MUCH easier to use, better ergonomics with the manual transmission, and has a much better aesthetic!

*NOTE - YOU WILL NOT get all of the benefits of the HVAC controller, a FACTORY installed unit will be tied to more stepper motors, sun sensor, dual fans, etc...Your car will NOT have these features.*

To pick one up, you can contact STEVE @ www.mbenznl.nl (**NOTE - This has been a little bit or trial and error, along with luck to see if your car will accpet the Digital Read out HVAC controller, and the Part Number is VIN specific to the WEEK that your car was built! Do your homework!)

Thanks,
Jake

Yes, it is plug in play (if it will work) with one over-travel lock.

You WILL have dual temerature control, you WILL NOT have dual control for air dispursment.

YOU WILL NOT GAIN the active charcoal filter, the sun sensors (which suplement FULL Automatic mode). It (Sun Sensor) would be located in the upper hood grille work, but cars without full CLIMATRONIC have a black dome that does nothing!

Essentially, this picture...

oh ok...and I assume b/c my year and your year too i believe does not have the charcoal filter? or the sun sensor? I mean we have the auto feature and I know i have that lil black bubble thing on my dash...i always thought that was the sun sensor for the auto headlights...do the newer models (from which this digital system was designed) have one for the auto A/C function as well? and what would be the point of our auto function w/o such a sensor? or are you simply saying they are not compatible...?

I'd always wondered if the sensor between the washer nozzles on the hood was an actual sensor for my car or just a place holder. I guess now I know. I had been thinking it was the light sensor.

Yes, It is stock trim - I show it for reference to show HOW THIN IT IS, and how it can EASILY be marred and scuffed - USE CAUTION AND SOFT TOOLS when removing the trims!

- IF you install the Digital Read out display Maverik, you will enjoy it more on all accounts. I do.

**I don't know if this is 100% accurate, but from what I recall, the HVAC sun sensor aids the A/C in cooling zones to be more efficient, logical and comfortable. IE - If it detects sun on the right (pass) it will help adjust cooling to that zone based on the threat of higher temps.**

Good luck all,
Jake

Just FYI, a while back mbbodytech posted this mod for his car, but a pre-facelift version. However, he explains the sunsensor well, and, he actually traced the wiring and added the sunsenor and such to his car. Although the car's electronics are a bit different, it is a good read and a fairly short thread. I believe it is probably good background for this.

you already have the digital HVAC. and NO pre-facelift and post-facelift center console cannot be interchanged without re-wire and new panels.
