sidemirror auto-tilt
i just learned something new and i thought i'd share it with you guys, pardon if it's a repost.
for the past couple of months my passenger side sidemirror will tilt down when i back up the car but doesn't go back up when i put it in "drive". well tonight for some reason i thought maybe i can "sync" the sidemirrors by holding the sidemirror button to up position for a few seconds, and to my surprise, it worked!!! the sidemirror now goes back to normal position when shifted to drive after backing up.
some of you probably know this already, but it's news to me, i hope someone else will find this helpful.
by the way, my sunroof still doesn't close all the way unless i hold on to the switch until it's fully closed. i tried to sync it but to no avail. oh well.

My auto-tilt mirror sticks some, too. Do you have memory seats? I've made the mistake of adjusting the seat in reverse and memorizing the setting and that messes up the mirror.
Also, my sunroof did this for a long time. Mercedes had to do an adjustment with STAR to fix it. Lubricant and re-sync never worked for mine. It's worked perfectly since they adjusted the pinch sensitivity, though. It was warranty or I'd tell you how much it cost.

I thought I'd share this with everyone. I had issue with the mirror not returning to original position after reversing. I thought it was just a memory/sync issue. When I did the service, the dealer reset it, etc, but the issue came back again. Then it happened again, reset it and came back, So at the third time, finally the dealer replaced the module or something under warranty. Now, it's working perfectly.

Forgot to mention that I had issue with sunroof as well. They replaced the module and some other parts before too after several attempts to clean and lubricate, etc. So if you are under warranty, have the dealer to check it out.

yes, the ss have auto-tilt when shifted to reverse.
yes, i realize that the selector button must be on the passenger side for the auto-tilt to work. it does do the auto-tilt when shifted to reverse, but it didn't go back to normal position. it works now.
car is out of warranty so the module is out of the question, unless the sunroof doesn't close at all.

as long as I've had my vehicle my side mirror has never gone in reverse...and my button has been in the passenger side position recently...

On my '05 C230, I did not have the passenger mirror tilt-down feature standard. I added the folding rear-view mirrors with the passenger tilt-down feature just recently. I do not have the memory seat option installed.
