My HID Install
Got the kit here for $60
https://mbworld.org/forums/group-pur...d-members.html
Got the 8000Ks, They are bright but almost wish I would of got the 6000Ks like everyone said.
It was any easy install. Plug and Play. No errors of course.
I drilled an hole with a 3/4 inch bit.
Rubber cap fit perfect.
I put the double sided tape on the ballast and some cable ties.
Need to get HID fogs now!
Not sure if anyone will find this useful or not, but was really easy to install.

Thanks for the info!
Is there anything that an installer should watch out for? Any possiblities of having an incorrect connection?
Did you use any error cancellers? (I don't remember you saying anything about it.)

BTW - I'd go no higher than 5000k on a 35w kit or 6000k on a 55w kit if you want the best actual light output, as it falls off steadily past 6000k. I have 6000k 55w. They're the color of OEM HID and provide excellent illumination.

I have zip ties as well so it will not move.
Install was just plug and play. On that kit make sure you have positive an negative correctly plugged in. Inside the headlight. Brown + Black and Red + Yellow.

Very nice. I'm still on the verge of getting some HID's, but I have to check with what's legal and what's not in FL. The salesperson just said "anything that doesn't look blue is legal"... which replays in my mind "just get a light and leave".

you'll be fine in florida...I have 6000k in my headlight and I've seen 10000k+ on ricers and beemers...it costs more for a cop to pull you over for headlights than what they'll actually get from illegal headlights considering you can simply change them out take them to the station to prove it and it'll cost you $7...i had straight blue fogs along with white that my dad installed on my truck and even then had them on for a month before heading to the beach where the cops have a low budget so they pulled me over with 3 cops for them, lol...i simply unplugged them, took the truck down to my sherriffs office, brought out some chick she looked at them as i turned them on to show no blue and gave her the cash...
bottom line is you'll be fine! just dont be stupid with it, stick with something around 6000k

Double-sided tape will not hold for very long. That's my experience with installing HIDs. Need zip-ties at minimum.

i would advise against the 55w...i just installed mine a couple days ago
REALLLY REALLY bright....nothing wrong with that....but the fact that our cars have halogen beams is not good. mine has a decent cutoff for the beam...but halogen is halogen so there WILL BE UNAVOIDABLE GLARE. probably 35w be the better choice...but running the risk of flickering

I'd like to get a 55w as well! Did anyone ever complain about any glare on your low beams?

as lilbenz said, they are quite intense. def brighter than 35w fosure
i guess i'll have to try and adjust them even lower, if possible. btw, when you adjust the beam lower, does that screw ever stop when you reach the limit?
i cranked that more than a dozen rotations, and im scared to keep going.

Nowhere ...Fast
I installed them right under the lights, nice, clean and out of the way. The only problem you might experience ($$$$) with your drivers side balast is it might fry the electrical components around it. There was a post on benzworld where the kid mounted the balast close to where you have it and it fried ESP control module( i think thats what he fried). Anyways, cost him major mulla to replace that. Just passing this along
here is the posting read: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w203...tallation.html
