Question W203 side mirror question...

I drove my brother's 2001 A6 the other day and when you throw the car in reverse the passenger mirror folds down a little bit similar to bmw and other cars to help you see the curb so you don't hit it and scuff your wheels... does our w203 do that???

not sure if mine is not working or we just dont have that function i have a 03

Thanks

Do you have a power/memory driver seat? I'm not sure since you have a pre-facelift car, but on 2005-2007 if you have a power/memory seat package, you have the tilt-down mirror. My car does this.

Look through your settings in your cluster and see if you find anything about mirror parking aid.

I have the 2003. It has to be set along with the memory seat feature. Then for it to work you have to have the right side power mirror button depressed.

that is wired. mine actually had that same problem but it happened right after the dealer worked on it. apparently they broke both front door control modules. it is a good feature but i don't use it anymore because i am trying to make sure i don't wear out the motor.

Maybe you shouldn't drive the car so you won't wear out that motor either. Logic fail!

Use the feature if you like it! No point in saving it cause you can't take it with you.

i thought it was you who said that 'it's just excess wear on these components" lol that is exactly what i said basically isn't it? sorry to bring this up an old thread for this but it was bugging me because i thought it was lilbenz230 that said he had turned off the feature to save wear. lol and sorry lilbenz230 i am not trying to make you angry or anything you are a member that i actually like unlike others that every post makes me want to buy every w203 so that idiots can't have one. you can keep yours lol.
btw lilbenz230 i like your sig i didn't realize what it was until i looked to my side bar and saw the month. the next two days will be upsetting for me. i have a memorial service to go to today for my great grandfather who lived to 102 or 103. and yes we never new his true age we new his birthday though. and the the 11 which upsets me and probably every one on this forum.

Actually you're right. I haven't dug up that post, but it was in regards to the easy entry/exit feature. I can't remember exactly but I think I said something about being 5'6" and not really needing it - PLUS - it saves wear on the motors. Seat motors can be quite expensive and a failure of a seat motor is a bit more critical than a failure of a mirror motor. Still, you're right, I did say something to that affect. I would hope that if I needed that feature, I'd use it.

I try to change my signature up to things that mean something to me. 9/11 had a profound affect on me and, even though I have no ties to NYC, I feel strongly about it - as I think a lot of Americans do. I'm sure you know this, but the photo is the Tower Of Lights memorial they do every year - it's beautiful and, I think, a fitting tribute to the now-much-emptier skyline in the city that lost so many that day.

you can just adjust it when it's done tilting and youre on reverse, then set it on memory

"parking aid" only happens when its set in the settings, and the pass side mirror is clicked.
