Anythought of an Automatic to Manual Transmission swap?
Has anyone put any thought into an automatic to manual transmission swap? For me it would be a 2002 C230K (Coupe)...
Just thinking that in (hopefully) 80k miles it may be 'due'. =)
I know this is not terribly difficult with some older cars (many are 'predrilled' most of the way). Swap the pedals, wire up the park sensor so it will start, and install the transmission.
What else? ECU swap needed? Several?

yeahh not really worth it.. besides youd have to get all these sensors and interior pieces .. very costy.. these arent civics where you can easily source parts for cheap..

The electronics would totally own you if you tried this.. at least that's my prediction. When I had my 02 TL (which came in 5AT only, and the 5ATs were known to fail regularly), a guy on the TL forum swapped his car to a 6MT. It did eventually run, but it was very costly and he had huge issues with the electronics of it and, in fact, the car was never right after that.
Imagine the complicated mess the W203 already is and then messing with it to this extent.
Definitely not worth it.

+1 to what everyone said. i had thought about this before and its totally not worth it.. had a local mb shop quote it and asked the dealer and they both said buy a new car or spend 10k on parts and labor.
