summer cars?! z4, 370z, others??
To the original posters question. I would suggest a 6sp manual 996 base 911. You can buy them on the use market for $24-32k. Its a well balanced car with decent power. The porsche shifter, shifts like butter. When you drive it, it reminds you of how the germans got there reputation of precision and quality.
If your willing to spend a little more you can get a 996 911 turbo for around $45k. Thats the next car i'm trying to save for.

that's somewhat true.the E90/92 M3 only has 296lb-ft of torque, but it's gearing is absolutely perfect.
How's that possible? It's simple. Gearing multiplies peak torque to the wheels to any amount desired. Increasing the ratio increases torque.
The limiting factors are the biggest problem with this ideal setup. Torque is multiplied through gear ratios, but the higher the gear ratio, the larger the gear and the more space it takes up. Unfortunately, in the real world, there's only so much space for a gear to occupy. It's this space limit that contributes to the "torque = towing capacity" philosophy. If space were unlimited and we could make the ratios anything we wanted, then towing capacity would be limitless since we could easily just utilize a higher ratio gear.

my overall choice is this car... but soooo pricey.....i wonder what the resell price be after a couple yrs
seriously, ive seen this car on the road. it turns heads.

but im leaning towards the 370z because of the price point. it looks sleek...except for the saber tooths upfront...like dracula or some shiet....lol
I don't like the front bumper or the rear bumper but the shape, body, and stance of this car is amazing! It almost looks like a wide body. It's just an extremely aggressive look to me that I can't go without noticing. And it's a coupe! Ive always liked the 350z's but they were never aggressive enough for me...but these 370's woooo!

If I had the money right this instant. a guy in walnut is selling his for 26K with (i think) 450HP with veilside body kit, remarkable paint job, rotora BBK and gramlight 17" wheels.

With the same powertrain as the 335i, not sure why the 135i would be the "chick car" but the 335i wouldn't be.Chick car = VW Beetle
Go-Kart = 135i

I don't know. I just don't feel any soul in the Evos, and STi's. The STi more than the evo like Frank stated but still they aren't something I can see myself having pride in. These cars are just light weight, with a good engine and factory turbo. Evo's get off the line but their gear ratio on a highway is very poor. I also just can't convince myself that a sedan will give me the same sporty feel as a coupe. All these things mixed with the fact that almost every 18 year old kid who's parent's could afford the EVO or STI has one.
