In order to change the mold, we would have to scrap the current mold and make a brand new one. That would mean throwing away the money we already have invested in the production of the part. We're not going to throw money away on a part that we belive is just fine the way it is. An issue with the gap was brought to our attention and we posted a fix. As you can see from the last set of picures, with the amount of flex in the part, the gap is covered.
this is just epic.

**UPDATE**
We got a new part in yesterday from the updated mold. Only problem being is that they didn't make a big enough of a change to fix the issue. The product development director is not all that pleased with it as he asked for the mold to be modified immediately. As soon as I get another update, I will pass it along.

That would be ideal but as you said, that's a structural part of the hood. Without that there, there's a chance the hood would bow.

You gonna offer these reduced for xmas? My new c350 sport needs a new smile. $350 seems steeeeeep. Make it more attractive for the holiday and Ill keep the vinyl paint away from my stock grille.
