HID PROJECTOR RETROFIT

Ok so i gave up trying to find a C230 with OEM HID's. So i decided to buy a 2007 C230 with 22,000 miles iridium silver with black interior for 17500. And decided that i'm goin to use a service to do a retrofit projector. The place is
http://www.retro-solutions.com/hid.html. I emailed the guy and if i provided my own headlamps and provide my own S2000 projectors w shrouds and using my own HID KIT for all for 550. You guys think that's a fair price??

its a ok price..if your a decent diy, you can probably do it yourself.

You can find a lot more good retrofit info here www.hidplanet.com. The output on the s2000's are far superior then the oem bixenons. The s2000's are considered one of the best single xenons you can buy in terms of output, color and cutoff.

There in the process of making replica s2000 projectors for much cheaper then the real ones. If you can wait, i would just wait for the replica s2000 projectors.

Another good alternative is the replica fx projectors. I did a tsx retrofit on some eagle eyes. Just click on the link on my sig. I'm in the process of redoing it with the halo head lights.

replica s2000? I'd honestly rather pay the extra 70-100 dollars get what i want if i'm going to spend 600-700 dollars. I saw a pair on ebay for 150+ And the FX's would they fit in the HALOGEN housing?

your absolutely right i found a pair

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/C-CLA...Q5fAccessories

I might go and order them right now. Quick question I know the OEM have built in auto leveling. But obviously it's not a feature I will have is there a way to adjust the projector itself? I mean I would hate to be stuck with a headlamp in the down position and the only way to adjust it is to power the motor inside it. Anyone had suggestions or answers?

and also does anyone have pictures of the cutoff or road view of the OEM bi xenons? I'm just curious what it looks like.

if you can find s2000 projectors for $150 buy two then. because the going rate for oem s2000 projectors is $300-350.

The fx's will fit depending on which head lights that you use. if you the eagle eyes they should be able to fit. I dont know about oem since i never open a set up. But just from looking at it, it looks like it would fit.

Do you know where to get OEM/aftermarket clear lens for our headlights? I'm not looking for the projectors lens, but lens for the housing.

You're retrofitting another one with clear headlights? Why?

I'm thinking to buy a pair of clears and retrofit quad projectors using my current frosted housings WITH clear lenses from the clears

I've just emailed some companies that do this and waiting on the price, hopefully not too much.

the clear head light cover with the glare lines kills a lot of the color. I did the same tsx retro on my ex's rsx head lights with completely clear head light covers and her cutoff is completely blue from a distance and then turns white.

I always know which is her car when she's driving down the street because its always the car with the really blue cut off.

Cops always stop and think she has blue head lights until she gets closer and the light turns white as she gets closer.

i would try www.hidplanet.com and see if you can find a local retrofitter.

It's so expensive for the clear covers . It's like 100 CAD and could be more with custom tax.

You meant the forum and look for a local retrofitter? It's a good idea actually, easier, doesn't have to ship.

here's a comparison of different hid projectors. The oem bixenons are the same as the e55 projectors. Keep in mind the stock projector will give off less color and less sharpness since the stock one uses a frensel lens and the one in the pic is using a clear lens.

if you really want oem bi xenons. You should PM MbenzNL. I believe he works at a mb dealership and he's selling them for around $1100 new.
