Cool single click "total closure"

mercedes w203

I've asked around here in the UK forums but seems everyones happy with the stock setup.
Well I'm not, I find standing by the side of the road repeatedly pressing and holding the close button to get the windows to close is a pain.
I would like to press the lock button once to lock doors AND close all windows.

Can this be done and how please ?

Technically I guess it's possible that it could be done with a Star Diagnostic computer in developer mode, and someone who *really* knows what they're doing.

What this translates to is: no, it cannot be done.

I don't think you have to repeatedly press it. I press it just once. When the beam from your key to the door handle sensor is lost, mostly due to an unsteady hand, the car thinks you're done closing the windows. I hold my key pretty close to the sensor and sometimes using the door to keep my hand steady.

My problem tends to be my thumb loses grip. You have to keep a pretty good amount of pressure on my key, and my thumb just kind of lifts off.

Drew, you might wanna get that checked out.. sounds like an issue with your hand and not with the key.

Exactly, and the you have to either start again or put key in ignition and do it manually.
Some cars do it with a second click. i.e. press once lock doors, twice windows.
And I suppose press again to stop if need be.
But current setup is horrible.

Thanks for reply guys.
If you hear of anything . . . .

Get the mods4cars module. Press lock twice, and everything closes and locks up. Not a cheap solution, but the best.

Please break out your owners manual and read it cover to cover

i wish their was a way to make everyone read the owners manual before they can make an account on here. 90% of the questions would be gone.

Just use "Tunnel Mode" before you get out if you started the ride with windows and roof closed...that is what I do, because it is always put in the garage with all closed...Drive off, roll them down - and when you want to get out...Use "Tunnel Mode" and it all shuts!

A lot nicer than chewing up Fob batteries too!

I did already know about the press twice, hold button, point to door handle, wait 10 mins, unlock car put key in ignition, close windows manually and so on. It really is not good enough. Most people do.
But that is not the question.

Parts of posts from elsewhere...

I used to have an old vectra that had total closure from door locks. ONE click from remote and everything closed, no waiting, no checking no fuss, and most importantly no worries whether it worked or you stood there long enough (or like did the only open back window the other side of the car actually close that time)???
I could stand in my house and could close everything - one click.

Is there a way this can be done as a mod so every time close button is operated and it all closes - guaranteed?, I suppose star will be involved again somewhere, but I think its an essential.

On average takes me three goes and neighbors must think I have a hazard light remote control, standing there like a *** in the street trying to get the damn things to go up.
And when they do you have to keep perfectly still, not release the button or move in any way, and then hold a bit extra in case a windows still open anywhere.
WHAT A PAIN.
Please anyone, if you find out how, pass on the mod to provide total closure with the doors locking. i.e. one click to lock car - total closure. Simple really !

As I said, the mods4cars module does exactly what you want.

I have never heard of being able to do any settings through Star that will do that for you. So I would cross that off the possible list.

I forgot all about the mods4cars module - that sounds like the best idea.

thats interesting that yours is very sensitive. just the other day i was about two car lengths from my car showing my grandmother something on here s320 and it started to rain. i roll down her window and closed up my car no problem. i will admit i use to have problems with my old style remote but my new one is way better. also my car has ir sensors on both sides which is helpful. i use to get so angry with my dads slk 55 amg because it only had one ir sensor and i would always have problems with it but i learned that it worked better from about 10ft then less than 1ft.

The IR sensor in the door was designed by an idiot. They go all the time. It happens gradually, you have to bring the key closer and closer until finally it wont work at all. Make sure the batteries in your key fob are fresh though, it can also happen because of that.

Thank you. Will look in to that. Sorry didnt see you mention module before. I sort of skipped the comments about 'manual' .
Should a looked closer.

Wonder how they integrate with network controls??

Update
Just had a look.
RKMB lists at 199 euros (whatever that is) and does a few things besides operate doors which can be set as options anyway.
Seems a bit pricey but that is exactly what I need (or an alternative solution)

Its a way of quickly closing all open orifices, i.e. windows roof etc.
Needs to have engine running.
But just press & hold the fresh air / recycle button and all closes.

Am I immature if this made me laugh? It's a hypothetical question - I admit nothing!!

Unfortunately, you're not alone there.

I was going to make a comment about how marriage is what does that quicker than "tunnel mode" would, but then thought better of it.
