need help.. weird issue that i never heard of..
ill try to make this quick. just got home from dinner. i start the car, turn on the lights, turn on the heater, and turn on my stereo. i was driving approx 60 mph and all my doors unlock. so i locked them again via center console switch. got on the fwy ran approx 90mph my car jerked left and got an ESP not available function. i slowed down to 75. as i was about to exit the fwy my car unlocked its self again. so i locked it again. i began to think that this only happens on cold weather. was 55 degrees tonight. anyone familiar with this?
ALSO out of curiosity i thought it might be like tire pressure so i checked. was all ok. only thing i found was there was some oil? grease? coming out of my front left center cap(wheels) attached is a photo of this stuff. whats the esp issue and whats the door lock issue???

I think he just wants to show off his Carlsson wheels
I remember you mentioned us (me, e1000 and MJ50) about the ESP warning you keep getting (minimum once a month). Maybe your ESP module is going out? I believe the unlock part because once (only once) my car did this as well but never happened again (knock on wood).
Did you take off your wheel to inspect the oil/grease? Is it only on one side? Check tomorrow morning to see if you have any oil spots (maybe brake fluid )
Hopefully more experienced members can chime in. But it seems like you have an ongoing issue with your ESP message.

so how exactly do i find out if this is the problem? i read the thread and i cant figure out exactly where i should knock on the SAM. (i think it might be stuff rolling around my trunk, AKA sub) also how much should this part be? in regards to the oil on the left front wheel is it possible to be like a busted bearing??? and is this the cause of the esp faults? this sept it has happend atleast once a week.

yeah this happened to me last year at i think 15mph it did it for atleast a good 5secs. abs was jamming itself and car was going left and right on its own. good thing there were no cars at all. this was side street. but earlier was scary. i was at high speed and it really jerked to the left. but no ABS going crazy. i got control of it right away so it was cool.

Sounds to me like some part of your axle lost its lubricant. CV?
Going on that theory, the oil may be interfering with that wheels speed sensor, freaking out the ESP module. As far as your doors unlocking, I have no idea how it can be related. That should only happen if the shock sensor in your rear SAM goes off (this is supposed to unlock your doors in an accident). Maybe the ESP module is programmed to send an unlock command if it senses an accident? That's my best guess.
You need to find out what lost it's oil because that part is probably going to need replacing.

^^ hehe. i told e1000, MJ50 and karo this weekend that i have NEVER EVER serviced my brake fluid. hahaha. i got a good reaction off erick! hahaha! "your killing me!" lmao! i dont htink its the brakes though coz if it was then i would really have to be pumping my brakes to be able to stop. i think.. what you mean by axle, CV? ill check tom AM whats up. ill check my brake fluid level and ill take off my wheel and see what it is. anyone know the diff colors of the OEM fluids? hehe. so i could tell easier what the leak is.

just occured again now. went out the office to buy lunch. around 10mph my cars abs vibrated 5 times while pulling to the left. and the esp light was flashing. could it be battery or alternator? my car was charging 13.2vlts constant. also i dont get any obd codes.
i still have to check what the oil is.

Possible wheel grease leaking out the wheel cap, vibration? Definitely pull your wheel and check out your wheel bearing. If it is going bad/already toast it could theoretically throw ESP off via a wheel sensor, just as acr2001 and alldataDIY surmise.

awsome info guys! glocati acr2001 and alldata i think you guys are right. im just on my second battery ever since. last replacement was probly 2 to 3 yrs ago. is 13.2 a normal charge? if the problem is the wheel bearing should i replace both left and right? or just left? hopefully this is the only problem. like 30 min job..
yes glocati there is vibration and alittle pull on the left.
///icon: i dint buy the 2/6 yet. i gotta get rid of my 2 sets od wheels. although i might get DPE's instead of carlsson's..

just checked my front left and right wheels. lifted the left and did the push top pull bottom routine to check if there was play. there was slight play on the left. checked the right is also had a tid bit of play but nothing compared to the left. so i conclude that MAYBE this issue is the wheel bearing, I HOPE! which one is the speed sensor you guys where talking about? is it the one behind the rotor? like 2 wires?
the oil... no idea... i took some snap shots around/inside my front left wheel well found some oil at the bottom of my strut, cant identify what kind of oil.. but it was not bad.. the bearing only had the grease on it so i think it should be good. behind the center cap of the wheel there was nothing at all.. although my 5mm spacer was semi-wet with oil, it was slippery.
esp dint go off on the way home and locks havent freaked out on me yet.
brake fluid i think was 1mm or 2mm below max level.
heres some shots i got.

yes there was a cover. i took it off to inspect the bearing and show you how it looks. this was the first time i saw a w203 bearing so i dont know if it looks ok or not.
so no input on my problems?
